... and you know we're all going to read this to see where we need to take our bikes next. Just one of the reasons I love the motorcycle community. Reminds me of a trip with my friend Sean when he said "is it bad that I was happy to see the 'high accident area ahead' sign?"

How many of these have you ridden? I've done Deal's Gap, but apparently need to bring my bike out west. And pull a trailer full of gas for the road in Alaska.
If you go to the forbes article the picture of the the gap is not the gap at all. The gap has one guard rail on it besides the overlook ones. That has two in one curve. Defintely not the gap.

Moki Dugway (Utah)
Named after a Spanish term for the Pueblo Indians (“mokee”) who once lived in this area, the Moki Dugway is a spectacular switchback stretch of State Highway 261 in southern Utah. Plunging off Cedar Mesa, the narrow gravel road drops 1,100 feet in just three miles as it snakes its way down into the Valley of the Gods. Moki Dugway is part of the “Trail of the Ancients” National Scenic Byway.

I have to agree with one of them for sure.
Highway 1 / Big Sur - Very scary! The wind is unbelievable up there. We stopped to take pictures, and literally, one of us had to stand there and hold both bikes to make sure the wind didn't pick them up off the kickstand. Nevermind it's 2 lane and packed with RVs.
The Haul Road to Prudhoe Bay is on my list! I WILL ride that road! And Dan, don't need a full trailer, just one 5 gallon jug. I've already done the math. The longest stretch between fuel stops is 280 miles. I can swing 180 to 200 on the Busa, so carrying 5 gallons should give me enough additional range. :D

Pfft, US1 in the Keys has more fatal accidents per mile than any other highway in the US.

I've ridden that piece of highway too. Never did see any accidents on it. Leon told me it would take forever to get to Key West. Guess I got lucky.
Holy hell did it ever stink though!!

Scary paved road? Parts of the road coming down from Mount Evans, Colorado. Thousand foot drop offs, no shoulder and no guard rails. Steep and twisty? The road from Evergreen to the road going up Mount Evans.

I'd put I-85 in Atlanta in there somewhere. 85-95mph in a 55 won't even grab a cop's attention.
Seriously I would love to check out those roads. Only one I haev is the Gap.

Accidents happen at certain times, most often when the bars close. I've seen a couple nasty ones there. One was bad enough that they closed down the highway and people pulled grills and coolers out of cars and partied on the Highway.

Pfft, US1 in the Keys has more fatal accidents per mile than any other highway in the US. That may be, but there's nothing scary about the road itself. Long, straight and flat, just like FL likes 'em.

True, it is pretty long, straight and flat. So the road itself isn't scary it's all the dipshit touristas that come down for the weekend and camp on the side of the road that don't know how to fucking drive.

And add to that an impossibly long double-yellow at points and you have a recipe for risky passes. And morbid head-on collisions. :panic:

Seems I remember a few on 129 from the overlook to the lake, and on the other end going down to the lodge, but the only ones I remember through the gap were around Suzuki. But I'm old and haven't been through there but once in the past 10 years. They were never painted Federal Park brown. I wished I had picked up one of the old black and white posts that used to be in the curves.
I just didn't want to get caught with one in my truck...

Yeah, I saw a head-on on the Long Key Viaduct that was nasty, ended up being multiple fatalities. Thought it was a buddy of mine actually because it was the same year, model and color car, even had the same out of state plates, but it wasn't him.
