Last nights patient

No storries of stanky cooter this time. Was having a rough night, had a few patients with social work issues and 2 lousy nurses, told one if she moved any slower moss would start growing on her. Anyway EMS brings in a guy with an elevated blood sugar level, so I figure ok this is easy check a fingerstick send some labs and thats that. Then I go on to find out this guy one lives in a homeless shelter and is a CONVICTED PEDOPHILE. Fortunatley I found this out towards the end of his stay. otherwise I may have had to draw the blood myself, and prolly would have slipped and stabbed him in the ey eor something.

Somewhat, interesting thing was he was a regular white guy, dont see too many of those here. Theyre either russians or hasidic/orthodox jews.

Its really shitty that they dont put this stuff in the charts... I've had many a rapist/pedophile/ etc etc be admitted unbeknownst to the staff until later in the stay. There should really be a criminal record tab in the patient charts, cause really, the patients who havent fucked young children get priority.

Ya know, I wouldnt be so much worried about the priority, even if they are scum but rather the fact that they are in a position to be around small children and are a danger to other patients...I've sat in many an ER and there was not staff there to be aware of the comings and goings of individuals...:idk:

its real easy too esp if its busy. everyones running aroun ddoing their thing its real easy to just wander around. Plus our hospital security is a joke so if yo uknow what youre doing its easy to move around un noticed.

They did soon after that, same fo rthe peds floor and that actualy works prety good. It locked down once when a tech moved a baby by mistake and got too close to the sensors.

Ten years ago they had that stuff in place in major eastern seaboard hospitals with drills from internal security to cover exits as the alarm sounded in "drills." For your place to just initiate this these past years is ....

Well, if it is on their record, it means they did their time for whatever it was. The fact they they are free to wander into the hospital means they are "rehabilitated" . Treating them any different because of their criminal record, even if it is sick like pedophelia, is against a persons rights as an American. So no, joe shmoe working a desk at a hospital should not have access to anyones criminal records just because they got sick.

prety much whatever I do post is common knowledge among the staff. Everyone prety much knows where people stand as far as whos good or not, I just tend to be a bit mroe vocal about it ;)

They use to sit down at the desktop right after I posted on CF and figure out ways to back page even after I deleted cookies and history. One floor person even subscribed and took the posts through e-mail. Little did I know. From that point on, I'd delete my posts before getting up. It became a habit. It seemed, my mind became that tempor.
