I was amazed at the little guys running the 50s and 65s. They were clearing the table tops and doubles that some of the lower class 250s weren't clearing. The front runner kids were awesome. I was truly impressed these machines could get some of the air that these kids were getting out of them and I don't think they had any sort of big bore kits in them. Of course they weren't lugging around a 180 lbs gorilla like mine is either.

The third and last pic, my cousin is the #919. This was her first time at the track. She did really well. Was hitting the jumps a lot harder than most of the ladies in the women's class. She finished 6th out of 11 riders in the race. She had the speed to get 5th, but got tired toward the end of the race. Muddy creek is huge, it is a 1.5 mile track and was super rutted and rough. Awesome place to watch a race.

i miss racing off road

I am really tempted to do this, but andrea would probably divorce me. She doesn't find it funny that I am going to get our kids into this.

if you do, let me know, i would love to get back in to racing cross country/ endurance racing

pick up an old blaster 200cc 2stroke and mod the piss out of it and race the 2 stroke class with it

sad thing is i still have all of my old racing gear in the garage

If I did it, I would probably just lease a 250cc through a dealership and run stock class, so I could update every year.

didnt know you could lease a bike out to race

i know the old shop i worked at had a bunch of old race bikes in back that were like a year out of date and pretty much gave them away if you knew the right ppl to ask

anyone ever heard of honda/yamaha of troy :)

They still in business? They don't have any teams in Supercross anymore.

That's what my cousin's race team does. You have to know someone at a dealership to do this obviously, but they sponsor you in exchange for leasing the bike. It's a lot cheaper than trying to buy a new one every year.

Where do you think those old race bikes from honda/yamaha of troy come from?

they are still in businesss but with the pop up of online stores they are pretty much a bare bones operation now, before they were the biggest parts place since you could just call in and find it and they would ship it out, now everyone can seemingly get you anything

exactly, thats what they do. The dealership sponsors riders, the race teams still don't get the bikes for free from the dealership. It's pretty much like a lease agreement. They give the bikes back when they are done.

That's kind of like Babbits here in Muskegon. You can buy 1 yo Area Cross race bikes already race preped.
