Oh noes, I'm starting to sound like my father!


So my wife, son, and I are on our way home from a trip to the store. Our street runs parallel to railroad tracks with some light trees between them. As I'm coming down the road I see a group of kids, maybe 10 or so, standing in the tracks. This is pretty normal, I see kids there all the time. As I'm getting closer I see a few start to reach down and pick something up. Right as I'm about to pass I see them cock their arms back, these little bitches were about to throw rocks at my truck! I anticipated this (we live near a shady area) and told the wife and boy to hold on.

Right as their little arms are cocked all the way back I lock up the rear brakes, then pop it in to reverse and light up the tires. I've never seen the look of pure terror in so many 10 year olds eyes before! It was classic. These kids scattered so fast that by the time the truck was in drive they were all gone.

Is it wrong this makes me laugh?

How would it be wrong? The little fuckers are lucky you didn't kill them. They were going to throw rocks at a vehicle - regardless of the dollar value of your truck, you had your wife and kid in the truck with you and they could have hurt them.

Someone threw an ice ball at my car back in December and it hit the window where my wife was sitting in the back next to our sleeping baby. It cracked the window. Had the window been rolled down, it would have been far worse.

Throwing shit at cars is NOT cool and the fact that you can laugh about it tells me you are a better person than I. I'm seeing red just thinking about the incident back in December...

In this circumstance it probably would have caused more harm then good. All the kids involved were black. Me - 30 y/o white guy with an old Chevy truck. Lots of drugs and violence across they way. I couldn't see anything good coming from it.

when I was a kid, kids used to throw apples at cars from the county park. First time I tried it, I chucked the apple 1/2 second before realizing it was none other than an unmarked law. Yeah that was a good day. LOL last time I threw an apple though.

A guy at work showed me some pictures of his windshield this morning. It looked like someone had hit it with a baseball bat. Some punks on an overpass thought it would be a good idea to drop a rock on his truck yesterday as he drove under them... He pulled over as soon as could, but there was no way he was going to get back up to where they were before they disappeared. He filed a police report so his insurance covered replacing the windshield, but still a huge PITA.

Next time you are riding shotgun with the windows down keep your arm out the window and hand hanging on the roof in a resting position. After some time goes by start leaning forward and saying to your buddy "Hey. See that kid. I think he's about to throw a rock". He'll go "what kid" and you go "Right there look!!!" and then slap your hand on the top of the roof. It makes a loud thud and scares the hell out of your buddy.

some years back some kids decided to drop a concrete block off an overpass close to my town (I believe something similar happened downstate a few years later). The block went through the windshield and killed the passenger of the vehicle (the driver's wife). Most uncool.

I mean I remember doing some dumb stuff when I was a kid but NEVER anything that would hurt anyone else. We never vandalized property or anything because we knew that it would be an ASS BEATING when we got caught. I was headed into town one night and had someone shot my car with a paint ball. It hit the drivers window right where my head was. (good shot at night) If I would have had the window down it would have hit me in the temple. I slammed on the brakes and whipped around, tried to find the bastards but they were in the park hiding in the trees and the park gates were closed. Then I started thinking. "hey if they are in the park that means they walked here from somewhere" I drove down a side road that was right there and sure enough there was their vehicle. I called the police and told them what happened and where the vehicle was. Then I let the air out of ALL their tires and headed into town to get my pizza. When I came back I went down the side road and there they were three young punks sitting on the side of the road with two squad cars there. LOL I drove by laughing and yelled "NICE SHOT DUMB ASS, HOPE IT WAS WORTH IT" The cops called me the next day and asked if I wanted to press charges and I said hell ya. Then two days later one of the kids dads called me to apologize and ask if me and my car were ok. He was a super nice guy and told me that his son had be pretty seriously punished. So since there was no real damage to my car or me I dropped the charges. The police still ticketed them for shooting the car, for trespassing in the park after it was closed and for breaking curfew. so they ended up with about 400 dollars worth of fines per kid.

heh i did a similar number on some kids throwing rocks in iraq. They were so busy chucking them at the middle truck that they missed us leave the end of the convoy and start barreling across the field towards them. Little fuckers almost shit their pants :lol:
