The problem with the NRA is that once you join, they are constantly calling you up for donations. I think for the most part they are a good group, but sometimes they are over the top.

I joined for $10 a year. I rarely get any junk mail and have never received a single telephone call.
One of the things I found was to send an email to membership@nrahq.org with "Do Not Promote" in the subject line. I included my membership number in the body. I don't know if it has any impact, though.

If all they're doing is trying to increase membership counts in order to make themselves look like more of a force, that's pretty lame. They'll get a bunch of fake memberships that way.

I'm pretty sure they know where their former president lives. What would be funnier is if you signed up some figurehead from an anti-gun organization.
