View Full Version : A Valid Point About The Flooding In Iowa!

I got this in my mail this morning and thought that I'd share,

Where are the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for help in restoring Iowa and helping the folks affected by the floods? Where is good old Michael Moore?

Why is the media NOT asking the tough questions about why the federal government hasn't solved this problem? Asking where the FEMA trucks and trailers and food services are?

Why isn't the Federal government moving Iowa people into free hotels in Chicago and Minneapolis ?

When will Spike Lee say that the Federal government blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines ?

Where are Sean Penn, Bono, and the Dixie Chicks?

Where are all the looters stealing high-end tennis shoes, cases of beer and television sets?

When will we hear Governor Chet Culver say that he wants to rebuild a 'vanilla' Iowa .... because that's what God wants?

Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete with reports of shootings at rescuers, of rapes and murder?

Where are all the people screaming that George Bush, or in this case that Barrack Obama hates white, rural people? My God, where are Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Oprah, and Harry Connick Jr?

How come in another two weeks, you will never hear about the Iowa flooding ever again? Where are the government bail out vouchers? The government debit cards?

There must be one hell of a big difference between the value of the people of Iowa and value of the the people of Louisiana .
Pass this unedited, undoctored, factual information forward..... to get Americans thinking.

Those pictures are insane and totally heart-breaking.

I have to admit, I don't even know what's going on since i don't watch a lot of news these days.....a bit ashamed of that though. :(

I had no idea that Iowa was still a state.

That really does suck, but like everyone else I heard nothing about it. :(

That's probably because it happened last year.

What the fuck is Iowa?
Isn't that how you say "ow" in Japanese?

Why hasn't received as much attention?
Not enough people effected.

the iowa floods: not sure yet, but it seems around 35,000 people have been displaced, several thousand homes (maybe up to 10,000?) have been destroyed, and 24 people have died. and they think the damage is around $2 billion and growing.

hurricane katrina displaced around 1,000,000 people, 275,000 homes were destroyed, and almost 2000 people died. the cost seems to be between $200 and $300 billion.

In other words, the story of the Titanic sinking will always get more attention than the story about how your cousins 19 ft boat sunk in lake Outta-dawhey.

I would suspect that "all the people" are wondering if the author of the e-mail is completely retarded, considering that the flood happened in June of 2008.

How come in another two weeks, you will never hear about the Iowa flooding ever again?

Has it been two weeks already? Wow, seems like last June was just yesterday...

We're thinking alright. We're thinking you need to buy a fucking calendar.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go fire off an e-mail about the way the war of 1812 turned out...

Hahaha! Hey did you guys know that this happened last year? What a dork I am! Shit, just goes to show you how little I watch the news! Hell, I didn't even know about it last year. Um and what does this have to do with Obama? He wasn't president then was he? Shit, that's it I'm getting an "F" on my current events report in Mrs. O' Grady's class!

You should read the email I fired back to this cat when I realized I'd been duped!

Still doesn't matter when it happened. It's what they did and didn't do afterwards. They got up, cleaned up the mess and went on with their lives. Bitching and moaning isn't part of the German culture.

Wait, are we talking about Flood of 2008 or War of 1812?

Both. The gov't wasn't big enough to help in 1812, and slavery was still legal.

I know, I'll get flamed for this.
