so as i said in the whore thread, someone hit my bike, turns out there was a bit more contact then i thought see pics:

thing is he doesnt speak english and has no insurance, so do i call my insurance and risk my deductable going up since i just got a speeding ticket a month a go for such a small scratch?

is it even worth dealing with this shit, a lil touch up paint would work wonders and its not that like the rc is a trailor queen

Maybe you should change the title to say illegals. I can understand your frustration. I live in Los Angeles. But when you say immigrants, you are talking to a very VERY large group of people. Not to mention...it makes you sound like a redneck.

Do you have contact information on him?

If you do...contact him, tell he needs to pay you CASH or you will report the incident to the police.

Small claims court may work too.

i got his info and called the cops, but all they did was give me a claim number over the phone for the insurance company, thats just about useless

im gonna tell him to pay me cash, and just put a twfix sticker over it :lol:

im not wanting to turn this in, im up for getting a new insurance policy in april and i dont want to put another claim on my policy, esp since i got that ticket

I bet if you gave him a (realistic) estimate and told him you needed the cash or you would take him to court he would fork over the $$$. If he knows he is illegally driving without insurance I am sure he will do everything he can to make it better without the cops involved. :beers:

You're correct. For something small like that, don't bother. Insurance rates are based on NUMBER of claims, not price of claims (i.e. ten $1,000 claims is MUCH worse than one $10,000 claim, although you'd probably be dropped after five claims.)

Did you call the cops on him in the first place? Chances are it's illegal for him to be driving without insurance already. So that ontop of everything else may have been enough to get him to cough up the money to fix your bike. Sorry to hear that man.

touch up paint means u have to prep it and do it yourself- and it still wont match really. tell him 200, thats 2hrs labor at 75bucks a hr and 50bucks for material. write up your own estimate and show it to him, pocket the cash and buy tires for your cali trip
