Yep. I bought a 98 Katana 600 for 3500 about 6 years ago. And this idiot wants 3800 for a 94 now? And if that kanatuna will do high 10's, there is much more to it than a true 600 kanatuna motor.

agreed. dont get me wrong, I like the katanas, as a touring machine, not a sportbike. but its not a good platform for drag honestly. not when you can get stuff like old KZ1000's or better, a ZL1000 and put some ZRX1200 jugs on it, ZX11 cams and some huge flatside carbs, mod the transmission to jesus fuck, and have soemthing crazy fun before turbo or n2o.

I don't know why you guys are baggin on this guy...I mean the bike prolly runs in the 11s (a second off) and while 3800 is high, its not real high, prolly a grand off.

sorry but anything more than 2g's is too much for a first gen katana, I dont care how nice it is. being the bike it is, 11's is probably off, I'm more inclined to believe 12's or low 13's.

I was at work today and i hear a loud bike come rolling into the Jersey Mikes next door. I went to the window to see what it was, and i see this tool walking away from his blinged out first gen canatuna! And of course his helmet was attached to the side of his bike, not on his head. I laughed so hard cause I instantly thought of this thread. I almost wanted to yell out and ask the guy if he could run a 10 sec pass..... :lol:

exactly. even a newer ZX6R needs a good rider and some mods to get into 10's in the 1/4. but near $4k for that is just retarded. hell it probably didnt even sell for that much NEW.

I miss my old Canatuna, but it would run 8.5 consistent in the 1/8. No way I see that one running what he says it will unless there's a 750 swap on N2O. :D

The claim of high 10's in the quarter mile? Maybe in the 1/8th mile. High 14's in the quarter might be more believable but not 10's. Additionally, all the NEW stuff you have tells me that its been abused or wrecked, also depreciating its value.

I'd be real suprised if you can get a 1994 Katana to run in the 11s. My buddy had one and it was slow as hell compared to my 96 F3. Or maybe he swapped a GSX 1100 motor in there and forgot to mentoin it.

In a motorcycle magazine they tested a 1995 F3 in 1995 with pro riders to get low-mid 11s...

About halfway down are 1/4 mile times. Best 1/4 for a 93 katana (closest to 94 I saw) was 12.2 which Im guessing took a ricky gadson caliber drag racer.
