Tonight my son and I are camping with the Cub Scouts.

We are camping here - http://www.tigerworld.us/

We are going to be in a field surrounded by cages full of lions, tigers, and bears! It's supposed to rain so it may royally suck but I am taking my camera and hope to get some good pics.

When we were talking about this I asked the Scoutmaster, "Can I bring a gun? NO. How about mace? NO." So I told him that if it gets bad I will be throwing someone else's kid in front of mine.

OK so here you go! All the animals are rescues. Many from people trying to keep them as pets. They are non profit and run off donations.

Err... We told the kids they were 'wrestling.' :lmao:

The lions were my favorite though. The roars at night were Jurassic park impressive. Low and gutteral and AMAZING.

I'd bring a rifle anyway. Nothing less that a 300 win mag, maybe even a 338 win mag.

That place is fairly close to my house and I've never even heard of it.

Thanks for posting the link.

 !! I think the rain (low chance) and keeping up with all of the little knuckleheads running around will be your biggest concerns.

Thats pretty cool! Theyve got those all over the country, but not all offer things like camping. Alot of them are rescues for animals fom zoos, or animals taken from people who thought they'd make good "pets". Make sure to post some pics for us!

I meant where they'd allow camping, dork

I went camping in a field once and woke up surrounded by a herd of cattle licking the SV

Done! You need to go! Anyone can camp overnight - 10 person minimum but I bet they would do it for less if you paid the same amount. They have day visits and you can also come in the evenings. That tour is a bit more though. It was definetly worth it! They also had monkeys, an anaconda, parrots, turtles, other snakes, and bears.

We had a ball!

We really did. The only thing that was frustrating was the constant chatter of the kids. When the lions started roaring it was so amazing and they continued talking like it wasn't happening. Maybe they will appreciate it one day!

Looks like a cool place and I hope the animals are treated well. Kinda sad they're locked up.(not opposed to roaming the city but in the wild)

We'll definitely have to check it out...especially since we're in Mooresville and that's not too far away. Thanks for posting up.

This place is just a couple of miles from the house and is pretty cool if you like animals.

Cool pics. I didn't know there were places out there that let you sleep with the animals. Sounds (and looks) fun.
