Go to the hospital, it must be the swine flu, or maybe hog cholera.

Excedrin migraine is the best. If that doesn't work, ask your doctor for some Midrine. Take 2 of those and it's night night time. :rockout:

At least I can see out of my right eye again.

Hmm I take 3 of those at a time and it never makes me sick, of course I have no lining left in my stomach because of it. :panic:

Damn I hate migranes... Used to give myself shots... not any more though.

Time for a cold wash cloth across the forehead, and a room with no lights or sounds.

Lights and sound never bother me, but any movement like turning my head or just walking feels like an ice pick in my temple.

a room with no lights or sounds.

in the first 2-3 hours that actually makes 'em worse (and I'm stuck in front of my PC for another 2 hours at least while I multi-task like crazy).

I've learned that nothing I do really helps so I may as well just keep doing what I need to do and try not to die

That sounds way too familiar. I would watch taking Excedrin. If you take it all the time you will give yourself rebound headaches from the caffeine. I take Maxalt and it seems to work most of the time. :idk: I hope you feel better.

My daughter gets migraines...VERY sound/light/touch sensitive when it happens..she NEVER complains about anything...but they knock her flat. It's odd....it's rare that my wife or I even get head-aches....not sure why she gets them.

I started getting them in the fifth grade. They got really bad during high school. My parents took me to ever doctor they could but I did not start getting some relief until they found a neurologist who specialized in headaches.

I had them when I was 13-14 too. Mine were being caused by stress. Damn over-acheiver syndrome.

Sorry Prtcl. Hope you get to feeling better real soon. :(

I'll bet you had to take the test where you put your head in a box and stare straight ahead and click the button whenever you see a point of light in order to measure where the blind spots are for each eye

I do indeed get rebound headaches from the caffine  Annoying.

When I was young I had bad bad headaches. They could have been migraines. I had to go for test for it where they plugged wires in to a unit and stuck the other ends in my head. Fun stuff.

It stopped after a while. But when I was older and would get bad headaches I could listen to music pretty loud and it would make me feel a bit better. But everything else drove me nuts. But I don't think they even close to migraines.

I get headaches all the time due to light sensitivity. If I'm not careful it gets really agonizing, fucks up my whole week. So I wear dark glasses and get made fun of all the time. Better that than spending hours hiding from light, noise or touch while seriously considering drilling holes in my skull. My sympathies.

I get headaches maybe 1 in 3 days? Sometimes less depending on oddities. I just pop ibuprofen or however it's spelled whenever I feel them coming on now.. I'm just so sick of getting them all the time. Been this way as far back as I remember. I'm happy they aren't cluster headaches though.. I feel for ya there.

I don't remember that test but I know I have done more testing then I ever care to remember. I have been diagnosed with tension, cluster, and migraines and I am having a really bad weekend. :panic:

I was just reading the link you posted and found this quote, "cluster headaches do not respond to biofeedback". I don't remember how long they had me in biofeedback but I could raise or lower by temperature but could never get a handle on my headaches.

I've gotten headaches for as long as I could remember. My Mom and one sister have the same problem too.

I've had them last for a couple weeks at a time. Most times I don't take anything as it doesn't help, but sometimes I do have to take 1 Exedrine and that generally helps.

I have found relief from not sleeping on my stomach, seeing a chiropractor, and a massage therapist once a month. I don't get them nearly as bad from this. I also noticed years back that drinking coffee gave me a headache, so I quit.

I hope you are feeling better!

I also suffer from cluster headaches. Worst frack'n pain I've ever experienced including childbirth. I've had the shots, pain pills ect. and nothing helps them. I often wish someone would put me out of my misery!

I hope you feel better soon!

Yeah mine are cluster headaches as well. Excedrin Migraine gets rid of them but I cant take them anymore because they are killing my stomach. I'm now taking Amytriptyline to prevent them before they even start. Seems to work, I get them a lot less frequently.

I use to take that. Now I take Topamax daily and Maxalt when I get headaches but sometimes I get into a cycle where it does not help. Luckily I and back among the living today. :rockout:

Are there "triggers" for your migraines?

My daughter had an extensive battery of tests conducted....brain scans....allergy tests....everything...trying to find some kind of "cause - effect" relationship for her migraines....nothing. They seem to strike out of the blue....no "trigger" that we are aware of.

it's a moving target. Root Beer was at one time but not anymore... then there were certain types of perfume (whenever I went to wal-mart and one of the local holsteins would take a fucking BATH in the stuff and it was instant aura followed by a nasty headache) - that one hasn't gone away.

Other than that, I'm thinking just breathing causes them sometimes.

Come on...enough is enough Particle Man.

If you do not want to have sex with the forum then just say "I'm not in the mood to screw all the forum members"

This migraine nonsense is so cliche.

I have not been able to associate any triggers that always cause a headache. Perfume does bother me, the change in whether seems to set me off, and chocolate feels like a death sentence if I already have a headache. :panic: I can eat chocolate without problem if I am not already in pain but something is different once I am. :idk:

This is a pamphlet that my doctor put out that describes some triggers. Hopefully your daughter’s headaches are hormonal related and they will settle down once she does. I feel her pain. I missed out on a lot of teenage stuff.
