What's wrong with your old head, and what does that have to do with Amal carbs?

one of the cam caps was damaged, and they're not interchangeable between heads because they're line bored in the head as an assembly.

dont forget a new headgasket when you do this, along with the torque wrench and service manual for the torque specs on the head bolts.

The square body Amals are pricey I'm told, but I will say they work mighty well..
I believe the twins I used to ride had 36 or 38mm Amals on them. We never had carb problems.

Sounds like a pretty good deal on the head, just get a manual, take your time and do it by the book.

Ah, I must have missed that episode.

I still don't know what that has to do with crappy English carbs, but I'm sure it's related somehow...

I think the alternative was to get the Triumph running and ride it instead of the 2fiddy Ninja. Me thinks that's not really an alternative at all. Can you even buy whitworth wrenches anymore?

Yeah, their still around, but spendy for decent ones.

Fuck that noise. Amal doesn't make carbs, they make aluminum blocks of shit that suck air and leak fuel. (My experiences with Amal's differ somewhat from Was92v's )

Get some Flat Slide Mikuni's or some Del Lorto's, anything but those god forsaken gasket eating English fucking nightmares.
