However, at the end of the day it's still just a Toyota.

Unless you change the badge.

Is it still a luxury car if it rattles your fillings loose? :idk:

looks like they tried to make it look like a 3 year old AMG... and it's sitting way to low for my taste... but not horrible

but I'm not much of a car guy...

Nothing like taking a luxobarge with decent road pressence and making it into an undrivable show car that screams "drug dealer".

Don't get me wrong. I love seeing cars like this out on the street once they've seen a few months of the real world. Broken and misaligned body kits. Damaged underside from two many scrapes. Jackasses inside violently bounced around with every road imperfection as the bass...wait...is that a rattling sound I hear wioth every "bawoooomm" in that played out wannabe rap song?

Anyway...looks cool in pictures. Has douchebag written all over it and completely devalues the car on the street.

Whatever these are, ES350 or whatever, they're several years old, because Lexus has moved on to better-looking cars now.

Exhuast looks childish, the pop-rivets holding the body kit are obvious, and putting a German tuner's sticker on a Japanese car is stupid IMO.

Gotta love the 20-series profile tires, too......Hope the roads are glass-smooth where he lives.

they're 2002?+ LS430's

and those aren't pop rivets, they're backup sensors........lol

and i think air bag susp. ride as good as reg. one's, as least thats what i've read.

I agree that they look like AMG Benzes. It would have been cheaper to buy them instead.

I like the look but it isn't practical at all.

why? if it was a german shop that did the tuning? can Germans only tune German cars?

Because the whole "look" of the car is trying to copy AMG, and they know it. Putting that sticker on just cements the FAIL.

As another example, how many American cars do you see with Japanese language decals on them? It would look fucking stupid. The only people who would do it are teenagers stupid enough to think they can trick people into thinking their car is Japanese.

They're ok but not for me. Raise them up a little and a few other small changes and then maybe.

I'd rather have an AMG car or a BMW M car but I do like Lexus.

Yes they do, and they're Ultrasonic sensors not rivets. Besides looking exactly like sensors, at least one car doesn't have them.

I got a good laugh out of this, I wonder how many of you bitched to yourselves while following a Cadillac, that "GM can't even put a bumper on without the rivets showing" while not noticing the Cobalt besides you doesn't have them

eerily simalar My truck has them (and they've saved a few compact cars in parking lots), I was giving you shit about knowing knowing what they're called. Why would they put a "back-up sensor" in the center of the front bumper?

On the minivan that's a hole for the front license plate bracket not a sensor.

Oh yeah. Not sure why they need those, but that hood is pretty long and you may not be able to see over the hood very well. :idk: I wouldn't want them on my front bumper.

yeah.. I'd... never had an issue knowing where the ends of my vehicle was... :idk:

be nice on a rental that you're not familiar with... but on my personal vehicle... I know how close I can get... and it's much closer than those sensors will allow before they go apeshit

They are an option on pretty much any luxury car over $50k now. Most of these cars have one piece plastic bumpers that tend to cost $1k+ to replace and can barely withstand a mouse fart. The general public also doesn't have the ability to not hit shit all the time. It still doesn't stop others from using your car as a bump stop when parallel parking.

The bumper on my Maxima is 1 piece and was about $600 to replace with no sensors in it and it isn't much more durable that that.

Prolly cuz the whole honeycomb absorber behind the bumper cover usually needs to be replaced too. It's not like the old days where you had a steel bar supported by 2 big struts. I plowed down 2 signposts in my little Rabbit back in high school yet there was no visible damage.

Rider
05-06-2009, 12:33 PM
Some asshole backed into me rubbed off some paint, but there was no visible damage other than that. I guess it's just cheaper to put a new bumper on than remove the original paint because of labor costs? :idk:
