I'm finally all moved in to my new house and ready to relax and watch some tube. The DirectTV guy came out yesterday, he says there are too many trees and he can't do the install. Doesn't really seem like he cares or put any creativity into it. So they cancel my order and Dish Network comes out this morning. Same thing, although he offers as many useful suggestions as possible. Basically if I want satellite I've got to cut a couple of trees down...

Soooo... I call Charter cable who is the only one to offer cable service here. They want twice as much a month for cable in addition to putting up with the bullshit of a cable company. I declined to order from them.

Now I've got a gigantic TV with a great digital surround system and nothing to watch on it. ARRRRRRG

Man you must have a lot of trees. I have several but DirecTV was able to hook me up.

Dish Network couldn't put the dish where I wanted it (DirecTV could) but suggested mounting it on a post and then running the line to my house but I didn't want the ugly post stuck out in my yard.

Good luck...I know that sucks.

Wanna sell the TV cheap ? :lol

Sounds like you are going to have to suck it up - timber or no cable/dish. Life is so unfair.

We're going without TV for now. Its hard to justify a $150 a month cable/internet bill when I'm not working.

Do they not offer packages that cost less than this where you live? I have cable instead of sattelite because we have 3 TV's and I don't want to pay the fee to be able to watch different shows in different rooms if none of us want to watch the same thing. I also have only expanded basic though, so, it doesn't cost much. I know its not HD but that's not a big deal to me.
