What up fellas,
So my buddy is sellin his 92 CBR F2, in pristine condition, never dropped, etc,
What do you guys know about this bike, is it something I should look into maybe gettin? He hasnt set a price yet, and when i was lookin at it, i didnt check mileage. So (after I do more thorough checks), what is your opinion of the bike as a whole?

It's a great starter bike and it's a Honda....meaning it will run forever. YOu should be able to pick that up pretty cheap.

real decent early 600.

I raced 600 production class on that bike, back when it was the one to have.

I'd have to disagree with Rider about it being a "starter bike", unless you don't have much experience, because the F2 is still pretty goddamn fast. Not competitive by today's standards of course, but still nothing to sneeze at.

The frames are stiff as hell, so set up is key to getting it to work right, but other than that, it's a solid platform.

I accidentally had one for a while. Really not a bad bike all in all.

miles are a nonissue unless its been stunted. listen at startup/idle for the notorious CCT rattle. fuck it, get the APE tensioner anyhow, its worth it over the stock hydraulic piece of rubbish.

F-series are great bikes, albiet pain in the asses to work on, which you'll be required to do a lot of with any bike thats 18 years old. I allways advise against making large purchases from friends, but in this case, i doubt he's selling it for more than 2k.

thanks for the input guys. i got some more info. it has 33k, hes the second owner, (bought it in 2001). When he bought it he got it a custom yellow/orange paint job, and has quite a few mods to it as well, still no price yet.

My F3 (very similar to the F2) has 42k on it and I take horrible care of it. Still runs like a champ. Only issue I ever had with it (other than fixing it since I bought it wrecked) was the R/R which I replaced with a Ebay $30 GSXR750 R/R and the chain tensioner. both easy fixes.

You'll be fine coming from a SV650 to a F3

The F2 along with the FZR-600 are probably the only 600's that get me a little misty eyed.

Back when i used to ride with folks on a regular basis, it would be me on my GPz-900r and a buddy on an F2.

I just bought a pristine ( and I mean 10 out of 10) 94 F2 for $1000 bucks. I was expecting a pig for the price but the guy opened up the garage door and pulled off the cover and I nearly came....

Bike is stock but for a Yosh can, but has the stock also.

I still don't know why he sold it.

Anyway, ya'll know how I go through bikes like some folks change their socks.

This one is a keeper.
I'll post pics as soon as I find my bloody camera.

4312 miles..............................sheesh......... ........................
