I'm going to Deals Gap next week and need to carry on with my running.

Can I even do this? I've never been down there so I don't really know what there is around there in terms of being able to run. :idk:

Where are you staying? I wouldn't suggest running on 129 itself. There are plenty of hiking trails you could run on though.

I tried to find the cabin information and apparently I don't have it saved anywhere. Someone else is in charge of that....I'm just in charge of sammiches!

Only caution I will give you is that the area is true wilderness and it is not uncommon to see bear and boar

email or call nancy (tailtamer on cf). She's an avid runner, and may have some suggestions.

It's not a joke, Scott. It's a good warning. There is a reason why some of the gap photog's carry while they are out shooting all day. Shane actually saw a bear cub leaving on sunday.

Kel, it would be good to at least have someone run with you if you run somewhere not populated.

Quite honestly, the riding up there is a workout in itself...and you may find yourself exhausted after jut a few hours...I dont think you'd need to worry about it overmuch...

Yeah, just run the gap about 5 times consecutively. That would be just as good as running. That's how I work out. I mean just keep going, don't take breaks. Ride to the overlook turn around without stopping, ride to the state line without stopping turn around, repeat.

Uh, Nancy carries when she runs. It's not the issue of bears but feral dogs and the occasional wild boar. Plus, every once in a while, there's some A$$#@&% that'll try to mess w/her. For heavens sakes, folks, it's the big woods!!!!

Man leathers stayed damp for days after that! My helmet?, well it's best if we don't speak of it....

Well her and Ron kinda bring it on themselves. They aren't the most favorite people with the locals or the cops. I am not a TotD fan in the slightest. Tail is the name of a crappy store, not the road.

I rode that bitch all day before and the next day I can barely walk. After I did that at the gap my mountain biking improved 100% since I felt no pain in the legs. Not saying it should be your only exercise but it'll shock your legs to death.

I actually wish I could have gotten to the mountains to ride. I have a triathlon tommorow/today and I really wanted to shock the hell out of my legs (Oh god as I typed this I heard a Duc raising hell outside my hotel window).

But you could run up 143 if you are in Robbinsville. Or go to Map My Run and look up stuff.

Ron has done more to screw up the Gap, than a thousand shirtless squids could have ever hoped for.

I have only one word for that guy, and both of them are fuck you.

Ok, two words.

Nothing like taking a picture of an accident scene where two people were just put in a body bag, so you can become a blogging superstar... Dude has no respect.

The guy's a total fucking tool. He slid in on the backs of the folks that put some work into the place, "re-named" it, and acts like it was his idea all along.

I have a long history of hating him. He should get ass cancer and die.
