Anyone have any experience with Jason Pridmore's STAR motorcycle school? I was looking and they hit up the Track in Pueblo twice a year... it's a 2 day school for $500...

thinking of maybe hitting it up next summer... :idk:

Zortness, a member here, has. PM him if he doesn't reply in a day or two. Or I'll call him. Lemme know.

Around here, like $200, give or take $10-$15. I think SoCal has lower prices, not too sure though.

Some reviews for ya on our local board:

boz's review (http://www.702sportbikes.com/viewtopic.php?t=8337)

quick opinion: well worth the money, do the 2-up ride or you'll regret it

+1 I took the 2 day at Hallett Oklahoma and had a riot blast! The school gives you lots of seat time and 2 days gives you time to practice the drills and still have time to drop the hammer and go for it.

After 5 years of club racing I was tapped out but found new speed from the courses. Really the $$ was well spent to get another 3-4 second off my lap times in 1 weekend.

Then there is alot to be said for getting to ride with some of the best teachers and current riders around. I got to ride with Jason, Steve Mikolas (Sportrider Mag), and Danny Eslick. Got pointers from James Lickwar. And met several other industry names...

It's an excellent course. Took it at Second Creek Raceway here in CO before it relocated to Pueblo.

is that raceway open for tack days?

The Pueblo track is open for track days, but Second Creek closed two years ago. A new track, supposedly state of the art, is due to open east of Denver near Byers this autumn. Will be known as something like "High Plains Raceway".

I had heard at sbg that the pueblo track you must have a racing license to ride on... any truth?

You know, I heard this a couple of years ago but know many who've ridden there without a license. :idk:

BTW, and probably unique to me... while I felt the Star School was excellent I didn't really learn that much. It mostly reinforced what I'd already read in books. I gained the most from the two days of practice with instructors following, and two fast laps around the track as pillion with Jason Pridmore piloting. :rockwoot: ... one is hit in the head with the realization the bike is far more capable than we let it be.

yeah I'm pretty sure I'll be doing the 2 day... was it extra for the pillion laps

Isn't it Reg Pridmore's, not Jason?

Star is Jason's school.
And there's no charge for the 2-up laps. Just get in line early. I suggest doing it the first day.

Star School would be alot of fun.

I think Lee Parks does the Total Control class in MD...I should shoot down there one weekend and take it.
