This part made me laugh out loud.

The driving experience was engineered by faeries. There is an Unbelievable Lightness of Steering, flagrant disregard for handling and a general sense that you are not in a car at all but some anti-gravity device which yaws and rolls without regard for normal physics.

Hideous IMO. The dash gauges are hard to read.

Reminds me of just about any family sedan or econobox produced by GM, Chrysler, or Hyundai.

You know, I was just gonna say that it reminds me of every Toyota passenger car I've ever driven.

who the hell thought the gauges going in the CENTER of the console was a good idea? that alone is automatic dealbreaker for me.

The Saturn Ion started it, IIRC

I think the Toyota Echo had it before the Ion.

The only person I ever knew who liked the Prius was a gay Canadian guy that we worked with. Enough said.

There is a reason it is a "chick car".

yeah, I have never understood that

I think one of the benefits is lowered cost producing it for different markets (left hand drive vs right hand drive)

And increased demand caused by people having to look further away from the road to see how fast they're going - good plan

Wow you guys need to get out more. There were many vehicles with center instruments way before that . . .

That is the one I was thinking of. That was introduced in 1959, although later models went to a more traditional instrument layout.
