11-year-old college grad: I’m no genius
Devotee of martial arts, astrophysics says he’s ‘regular kid who works hard’

11-year-old graduates college
June 5: An 11-year-old Southern California boy is already a college graduate. KNBC-TV's Kim Baldonado reports.
NBC News Channel
Moshe Kai Cavalin, 11, graduated with honors Friday from East Los Angeles College, but he'd rather you not call him a genius.
"I consider myself a regular kid who works hard and does his best," says this only child of a Taiwanese mother and an Israeli father.
When Moshe started college at the age of 8, he may have been the youngest person in class, but he ended up tutoring some of his 19- and 20-year-old classmates in math and science.
Astrophysics is his passion. Albert Einstein and Bruce Lee are among his idols.
Yet like a twist out of a Hollywood action flick, Moshe combines his exceptional smarts with fearsome martial arts abilities: The preteen has won numerous national martial arts championships.
Up next for the tireless boy wonder: In the next six months to a year, he plans to devote himself to martial arts, write a book for kids on how to succeed in school, and take up scuba diving.
Not on the agenda: playing video games.
"I feel it's a waste of time playing video games because it's not helping humanity in any way," says Moshe, who wants to use his knowledge to change the world

How were gamers owned?
While I dont do that (anymore). I dont see a problem with it. Im all for people being themselves. If someone loves playing video games, and arent hurting anyone by playing them, how is that any of anyone elses business.
Just because he's a genius and has lofty goals, doesnt mean everyone should have the same goal. Im sure he'll die rich with lots of good inventions/ideas. What does that have to do with how much videogames anyone plays??
Shit in a few years that dude will be mega rich and getting all the poon he can handle! yeah but he wouldn't know what to do with them:lol:

Dude you should know by now, I have light standards for ownage :zowned:
Pretty much everyone plays, or at least HAS played, video games, including me.........But doing it everyday for 4-5 hours is overkill IMO.............same with watching TV...........because people like that probably don't leave themselves enough time to work out, socialize, spend time w/family, travel, take a class, learn something new, look for a better job, and all the other important things in life. Shit, even just going out drinking would be a better use of time, cuz at least they might have some stories to tell from it.
Put it this way, if you had a kid, would you be cool with him spending 4-5 hours gaming every day. Probably not, so why should it be encouraged with adults.

Shall we extend that to stuff like watching sports on TV?
What about debating politics and philosophy on the internet?

I hear that they have these things called books now. Seems that you don't even have to leave your house for them. Just buy them on the internetz and they come right to your door. Don't even need to leave your couch.
