222s are basically Aspirin with some caffeine and a couple of mg of codeine. They cut a headache reasonably well, but don't do shit when your gums have gaping holes in them and your jaw feels like it's been dislocated.

Vicodin never did much for me... dulls the pain a bit... but not enough to ever feel comfortable.

I've had it three different times...


though I have trouble with pills... none of the normal dosages usually do much for me... I usually have to take double to get the effect they want...

Don't mix a lot of alcohol (none) and all the pain meds you are taking :) If you take more Advil than you should (plus alcohol) you can seriously mess up your tummy :) You don't a GI bleed on top of a sore mouth.

As well, no driving with narcotics in your system. Get into an accident and you'll have issues.

And take the antibiotics. Don't want a funky heart infection via your teeth :) Antibiotics are mucho importante.

yeah I have never thought a dry socket of any kind would be good... so I'll stay away from that shit.

And don't worry I'm takin the pen. He said he didn't have to break into my sinus but had to clean out some infection up there. That probably hurt worse than anything when he was doing that. If he would have kept that shit up for too much longer I bet I would have passed out. Felt like somebody rubbin a picker covered in salt in a fresh open wound. :td:

I switched bk to altrums this morning... they seem to take 2-3 dosages to kick in good. But the vic/advil thing wasn't working.

Some have suggested doubling the vics... but damn. Maybe when the wife gets home...

I am going to the bank and grab some food in a few... yes driving... but nothing over a couple miles from the house. Being I'm not on the vics I'm sure its fine...

My other problem today is my stomach is killing me. Feels like I'm going to "splash" any moment. Probably from the blood drink coupled wth these damn meds. Hopefully some heavy food and carbs will settle that down.

A few years ago I went back to a dentist who I'd had as a kid. He remembered that I used to get gas instead of the needle, even after 20+ years, so he started using it on me again. Cleaning, filling, whatever.... I get nitrous. I'd much rather feel high as a kite and not care about the pain I'm feeling, than feel like someone has stuck a railroad spike through the roof of my mouth and drool for the next 2 hours.

Quickest I have ever been in and out of the pharmacy was after breaking my collar bone in 4 places and cracking 2 ribs the Doc gave me a script for extra strength vicodin. The guy said just a sec and turned around and 30 seconds later I was walking out. I took about one per hour during the 3 hour ride home I was one sore puppy, Michigan roads suck with busted bones.

Turns out vicodin does not agree with my tummy and tossing cookies with broken ribs sucks. I got tylonal 4 with codine the next day from the bone doc. A few of those and I can sleep with just about any pain. But a cramps in the tricept of the arm with the broken collar bone is a little more than I could sleep through. I got some flexeral for that. A week later I got the collar bone all bolted together and felt way better in just few days.

Except for the hicups I got from the O2 they gave me during the surgery. I had the hicups on and off for 3 days about every half hour. The Doc said it sucks but it happens sometimes. Keep in mind I had 2 cracked ribs. Ouch.

Well it's some time later and I finally got my other 3 wisdom teeth yanked yesterday.

Between then and now, Uma had her's done a few months ago. Went to the same guy I went to for this thread. He's a rushy, forgets that you are a human, and doesn't consider the pain he will put his patient thru cause of above.

So when I got my referral from my dentist, I told him about above issues and that more I asked the most I found out similar stories. F that guy.

Went to new guy... nice sit down consult (1000), full head xray (still no brain there). he walks me in the room, iv's my hand and tels me what he's giving me.. some steroids for healing, volume to keep me calm (standard i guess), then polypropho somin (similar to what MJ OD'ed on, per him). (abt 1020)

He said 20 mins was the time frame of surgery. I "supposedly" walked out on my own in quite an amusement to my mother in law and the nurse. I asked 3 times if they took all 3 teeth out. I asked 6 times if I needed a follow up appt. Had to be asked twice to get out of the chair. So now I'm walking towards the car, all sideways, like a drunk. Nurse yells at MIL to catch up to me. MIL grabs for my elbow and I shrug her off "I got this", she tries again "I got this, any decent drunk knows how to walk sideways!". :lol

All of above was told to me... I don't remember, anything from Dr telling me what drugs he was injecting, till 1330 when I woke up at home in my lazy boy chair from my nap.

Now I got over the counter advils for inflammation, penicillin, and darvicet 100s. nothing that gives me any excitement but no real bad pain this time. And it should be more. But better doctor I suppose.

I probably could have too. Except my company won't allow us to work while on pain meds. My job is Federal DOT regulated and we are OQ'ed for every task we do. basically DOT version of licensed for our jobs. We aren't allow to do OQ tasks (basically my whole job) while on any pain meds like I am on.

True... my current dentist swore his Novocaine injections wouldn't hurt. But I use to always have to get gas to get Novocaine. But he was right. Little numbing gel on gums before, then slow slow injection of Novocaine... no pain. First time EVER. He said the trick is, to take your time. Then if you ever feel ANY discomfort, raise your hand, he fixes it with more Novocaine or a different method of work. he's awesome.

And now I found a great oral surgeon too.

Depending on the work that you have done a good dentist will let you walk away with just minor discomfort, a bad one will leave you knocked out for days.

A good dentist knows how to do what might be harder, and takes longer, but causes extra pain vs going in for the kill

Felt a ton better when I woke up. Although i took it again at bedtime last night, and becasue I had slept 15 hours earlier in the day, my brain didnt want to sleep. I was just in a constant dream stage all night. I just went from one elaborate dream, wake up, and then on to the next dream. I think im done with that shit....

If you can drink a lot, you probably have a fairly high tolerance compared to others with most other drugs too. But the fact of the matter is, vicodin, perco/endocet, and codeine are pretty fucking mild painkillers.

When I was using pills back in the day, I used to crush and sniff 30-40mg of Hydromorph Contin at a time. that's be about equal to the effect of about 15-20 percocet, without the tylenol (different family though, percocet are oxycontin). It got to a point where even that didnt get me high, just stopped me from being unbelievably ill.

Those little pills are more addictive then they are strong, trust me.

For me the cough syrup was mandatory. My lungs were in such bad shape it was the only way to keep me from puking, choking to death and coughing up blood.

The muscle relaxers...permanent nerve damage. I take them to help with facial twitching and shooting pain to help me sleep. I suffer throughout my workday because I need to be sharp. I'd rather take them than have to find a script for ambien. My scripts usually expire before I use them all. I take the muscle relaxers before deep tissue massages to make sure that I get the all the pressure points released.

I never got anything stronger when my SI joint was dislocated. I was in so much pain steve had to help me into the bathroom. I managed to get out of bed one night and pee by myself. Then I couldn't get back in bed I stood there crying thinking if I laid down I would smother myself cause I couldn't roll over. Steve woke up and helped me back in bed. God I love the man lol. You know someone really loves you if they help you on and off the toilet!

you didn't see me drunk. I went straight from buzzed to ripped. Besides that was an extreme case of "Drink too fast, fall on your ass". I don't that that I have drank that much that quick before and still been standing let alone anything else. So I made a fool of myself at the bachelor party? Who doesn't? I still had fun and would have done it all over again that was a bad ass bachelor party and am looking forward to Jimmy's.
