I love Mexicans and all hispanics, illegal or not, just like everyone else...i'm very PC, and worry quite a bit about what people on the internet will think about me if I disagree with them..If anyone has anything negative at all to say about hispanics, i get very pissy and my panties get all bunched up, so much that it makes my vagina a little sore
I'm taking my pole and walking away from this one

went to the Yamaha shop to borrow a tool i needed at work, one of the mechanics was working on a 98 R1, i said thats a pretty rare bike to see these days, who's is it? he said "dont know, he's a mexican"
They get to live here tax free with free health care, etc, we gave em all the big girls, and Honda Civics, they dont need sportbikes too..
Just tossing this out there....
Maybe...just MAYBE it's just a American citizen who happens to be spanish (oops excuse me to all the PCidiots "Latinus Americanus)

Not to mention that they would be unable to get medical or any other type of assistance other than assistance back to Mexico.:pat: I'm no American purist by any means but I can see with my own eyes the vast numbers of Mexicans that have invaded this country in the last 30 years. No I don't mean "Hispanic-Americans", I mean Mexican nationals whose only purpose here is to siphon off whatever money and benefits they can take from this country and send back to Mexico without any interest whatsoever in becoming a citizen, defending our freedom, learning our language, etc.:panic: Every dollar that they get in welfare, is money that could have been spent helping an American family. Every minute they are in our emergency rooms getting treatment, is a minute some American has to suffer! I just read that myself!!! Hopefully he meant that the Spanish stole Mexico from the natives and we had little to do with it. Wars have always been fought over territory, even by the Indians themselves. If we want to get started giving back all the land that was stolen from other people let's go all the way back and put everyone back where they belong! Shit, as far as I'm concerned if the Mexicans are really just trying to return to their homelands, what the fuck are they doing in Michigan? True. But you'd think the same would apply for mexicans seeking work and sanctuary in the states. They should LEARN English, if only to make it appear they belong here and arent illegal...

It could be, depending on your dialect...Azoom is 100% right, what they teach in school is "proper" spain spanish, not typically what you are going to hear from the myriad of spanish speakers in the U.S. Go to spain, its a whole different ball field, but still slightly different.

When you are dropped into an environment where your own language isn't represented you learn how to communicate in the language available.
Those right now coming to the United States are surrounded by those that speak their language and/or having more people that are willing to bend over to help them in their own language.
They have no necessity to learn.

The more that they interact with society as a whole, the more likely they are to be caught if they're in the US illegally. With the entire sub-culture that has grown up around illegal immigrancy, there is virtually no need for them to ever learn English.

I think it would be nice if everyone in the country learned english.
Or at least tried.
Example: If you are older than 3 years old and you pronounce "loved" as "luvdid" or "hurt" as "hertid"
You should go back to where ever you came from.
If the second word of most sentences is "be" as in "He be over there" or "She be buying beer"
You should go back to where ever you came from.
If the end of every sentence is "and shit" ("I was watching this show...and shit", " I'm going to solve this equation...and shit" "He be hatin on a brother...and shit")
You should go back to where ever you came from.
I'd rather listen to a Mexican (or the typical illegal I know...Irishmen) speak in broken english then jerk offs who mangle their own language.

Oh no you didn't! There's a difference between being forced to come to this country and forced to learn a language at the crack of a whip and choosing to come here but not even making an effort to assimilate into the culture you choose to join.

Most of the European immigrants that came over back in the days didn't speekee no ingles either. How many of them never bothered to learn to speekee ingles after being here most of their lives? How the fuck is grandma at 60 going to learn a new language?

Oh no...poor southerner.
We're a diverse population up here where stupidity knows no race.
As I typed that post, I had those dirty Puerto Ricans in mind (that's right...useless dirty Puerto Ricans) because that's who I walked behind for a block during lunch, two Puerto Ricans (the girl hadn't hit 25yrs old yet because the ass still fit through the subway turnstile). It was a steady stream of beezanshit and the "ididitids".
However, the guido's are also well known for their "beezanshit"
Suburban white kids on Long Island are the ultimate ass-crackery because they try EXTRA hard to use "beezanshit" as they drive in their daddy co-signed rides. However they are not as funny as the chinese kids stepping out of Bronx Science high school or whatever school they go letting the beezanshit fly.
Yes, just as they were the originators of rock and roll...the blacks are the originators of "beezanshit" but dear friend, I did not have them in mind when I brought up beezanshit and the ididitids. Now I feel obligated to recognize that contribution.
In honor of beezanshit and the ididitids, I hereby....
never mind.

If some spanish speaking guy is there to pick up an old R1 my first assumption is that they are here legally and that they are assholes for not speaking the language. That and the ZX-9r of that year is the better bike.
I guess it's the result of being mistaken for being spanish\latinus americanus and quite a few folk automatic assumption is that:
A. I speak spanish
B. I just crossed the border
You too? I get the hotel staff in Florida talking Spanish to me all the time. Also a lot of "legal" mexicans dont like all the rallies for illegals to stay. Also illegal mexicans dont like legal mexicans.
I will be a racist for a second. I absolutly HATE when I see the back windshield of a pickup with the mexico flag or any other flag. If you love that country so much, then move on down to it. 1998 ZX-9r was a monster...single headlight and all. First factory stock bike into the 9's and a feather weight. Prior to that, it was a bit porky but it was still a rocket of a street bike with mainly a street focus. It's styling was was appropriate for the era. R1 came out and pulled a 916 out of it's ass and now we have interesting looking jap bikes (and it was slower than the ZX-9r)

Still a POS compared to the 2000+ and especially the 02/03 models, the best of the breed. From wikipedia:
Important detail changes were made in 2000 to the new basic design introduced by the previous model of the ZX-9R. For 2000, the ZX-9R gained a few horses from a compression ratio increase and higher duration/lift cam. Improvements were aimed primarily at handling. A new look was also introduced, with distinctively feline twin headlights and a separate ram-air intake replacing the single headlight and integrated intake of the C-model.
The frame was made stiffer through the enlarging of the front engine mounting bolts, though this still left the ZX-9R with just a single front engine mount on either side of the frame. Further, the rubber bushes in the top rear engine mount were changed to alloy. This combined to make the engine's contribution to the stiffness of the frame/engine unit greater.
The swingarm pivot and wheel spindles were made considerably larger in diameter, again for more stiffness. Increased offset on the triple clamps reduced the trail on the front wheel to make the steering more agile. Forks were shortened to save weight, and the rear shock top mount was redesigned to incorporate a ride-height adjuster.
ZX900F1 (2002) and ZX900F2 (2003)
Changes to the 2002-2003 ZX-9R extended well past simple cosmetic modifications. Additions included a strengthened swingarm (by a claimed 20 percent), stiffened frame, new engine mounts, new rear shock, increased trail and reduced fork offset, and new Nissin four-piston caliper brakes and 320 mm discs at the front wheel. Slight engine modifications included new Keihin carburators and a heavier crankshaft to smooth out shifts. The rear passenger grab handles and fairing stay were also removed from the 2002-2003 models. Color options for 2002-2003 included Kawasaki green, candy gold spark, black and silver.

This thread is funny! And sad, all at the same time.
My grandmother and mom moved from Italy to Venezuela, where they learned Spanish, then from Venezuela to the US, where they learned English. And I say English because they learned proper English, not American.
My brother-in-law came from Chile to go to school. In under a year he learned to speak English, and in 5 years (after being married and having a kid) got his bachelors degree.
On the other hand, my cousin's daughter who has lived in Italy her whole life (she's 15) can speak English very well. Which is good 'cause I can't speak Italian worth a shit anymore and we communicate on Facebook and I rely on her English speaking ability so she can know what the fuck I'm saying and vice versa.
ETA: And I'm a little drunk so I'm not sure what my point was except for people can come here an learn the language if they want to, and should. And many other countries do in fact teach English and the kids grasp it more than we do in our HS language classes. Probably because they start them much earlier than high school. Fuck I hate trying to spell when I'm drunk!!!

Nope...1998 as pauldun170 posted and why I remember is I was at Daytona Bikeweek in 1997 and my friend was dead set on getting the 98 R1 when it came out. I didn't want to copy him and was looking at other bikes from the big 4.
Kawasaki had a tent set up and I sat on the 1997 ZX9 and stated something to the effect of "If they would take about 70 lbs. off this bike I'd buy it."
Well when the 98 brochure came out it said exactly that !! "The ZX9R drops 70 lbs." He showed up at my house and dropped the brochure in front of me and said put up or shut up !! So I did...went to the local dealer and bought a candy apple red one. I didn't lilke the black lower fairing and wanted the bike all one color so I took it off and had it painted but the guy couldn't get the color exactly right so I changed the color of the entire bike.
I took the tank and all plastics off and had it painted black since there was no black ones offered in the US...had some decals made that said ZX9RR and had a one of a kind.
I later sold it and bought a 2000 R1.

We got all black in Canada, but no red. There were several requests at the local shop for full plastics swaps with the US model.
It just figured that when Kawi got it right, Yamaha had to eclipse the fact that their bike had improved so much. Every R1 that the same shop had was sold that year. I remember a salesman telling me that all but 2 came back on a flatbed.

Indigenous my ass.....There never was all that much interbreeding between the Spaniards and the native Latin American indians........They were discriminated against just as much as American Indians were, and continue to be treated as 2nd class citizens in Mexico. THOSE are the original owners of Mexico. Not the dipshits in this photo.

Actually there has been quite a bit of interbreeding between the Europeans and indigenous peoples, just as there has been in the US and Canada. Does that mean the ancestors of those who came up from Mexico were living in southern California prior to the coming of the White Man? Not really. What group do they claim descent from? If it's the great Aztec civilization then they're a little far north. Since Aztlán is the group that seems to be pushing this issue the most, they need to be given a lesson in geography.

Thank you! That's all I'm saying. There are some American Indian tribes that can lay claim to California, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, etc but Mexicans are fighting for property that was claimed by Spain and lost by their gov't...which was run by Spaniards-gone-native at the time anyway!:idk: We acquired Alaska from Russia, does that mean that all Russians now have a "right" to come here as they please without regard to our immigration laws? What about France? Shit how about England? We took the original 13 colonies from them by force. This whole thing is ridiculous anyway. Mexico is a huge country with vast resources, it's not our fault that they've run it into the ground is it?
What does that mean for us that are mixed breed? Oh I'm so confused..

Get real peoples, theres no such thing as a pure bred, but if we want to talk genetically superior, I vote Africans, they can live in horrific conditions, can eat anything, etc etc, and still get up and run and work for days!

 I'm too lazy but I wonder what the number of naturalized Mexican immigrants is since oh 1990? I bet it's less than 500,000.:panic:
Hardly...millions. The problem is that an illegal couple coming to CA, AZ, NM or TX BREEDS (and those mutherfuckers like to fuck)....have 6 kids each and viola!. A million more. The blacks have a saying in Los Angeles...kill 1 wetback and they will just make 20 more. They don't care.

Yes and ATM's are the same now. Although at my bank the choice is about 10 different languages. Which BTW bothers me a lot less than just having Spanish as a choice.Agreed. At least this way it falls under the "catering to all tourists" category, rather than "catering to a growing demographic, giving them less reason to learn English".
While in Japan, I was never happier than when I found the little English key on their ATM and it made me appreciate how visitors would feel here if they were English only. Except most of them are comfortable with English, but that's a whole 'nother story. Zoom's spot on, our own ignorance can be downright embarrassing.
Now the subway... that was another story. By far the largest culture shock of my life. At least in most languages you have the benefit of matching familiar letters from your destination to the subway map.
In Japan you have to scan this massage map with tons of train stops, looking for "something that looks like a backwards E, followed by a funny looking 4 with 2 birds flying over it, then three boxes stacked like a pyramid, and 3 squiggly lines."

I was exaggerating of course but I'm very sure that the number of Mexicans that emigrated here legally (not born here or whatever bs you're talking about) is less than a quarter of illegals that jumped the fence.
Yea but you said traveling... not expecting the people of the country you are visiting to know your language. I do agree that we definitely fall short when it comes to knowing other languages. :idk: I'm just saying don't EXPECT me to know your language because you decided to sneak into my country.
I'm with you sneak in or not, learn our language if you are going to live here. if I was going to move to another country to live I would learn the language of the country I was moving to.
True story. One of my best friends in HS is Cuban. His parent immigrated to the US in the late 60's. Spanish is predominantly spoken in the home and their maid couldn't speak a lick of English. He took 2 years of Spanish at school and got a C in every semester. :lol
I knew a couple (who's parents were from Mexico) who had to take Spanish in HS to learn any Spanish. he and his wife told me that their parents made them speak English the entire time.
I will be a racist for a second. I absolutly HATE when I see the back windshield of a pickup with the mexico flag or any other flag. If you love that country so much, then move on down to it. Also if you ever need to contact a mexican and dont have their number. Just sit down and watch the vehicles pass by. You'll eventually see their last name tagged on their car.
Nuyorican's are bad about the flag thing too. I worked with one that had the flag in his car, found out that he had never even been to Puerto Rico. I gave him hell for that. I had never heard of the term Nuyorican before, hell, never even met one till I moved to FL. thought I made that term up then found out it was a real term.
the running joke in FL. about the flags was so they knew who not to steal from.

Yea my gf went to hs in that area and out of an entire 2000 person student body, maybe 50 were Hispanic and 15 were black! Conversely, the school I went to had maybe 50 white kids... Hahahahaha!
 my elementary school & junior high were eerily white. And not just white, but blonde!!!! There were three black kids (all siblings) in the entire school district, and aside from them, there were literally only a handful of brunettes: me, a kid named Eric, and a few exchange students at our junior high. My mom jokes that my jr high yearbook looks like the Aryan nation.

Good for him!!! I'm serious! Why would you rather sneak around and risk being deported? Over $2,000? The thing is most of them don't want to be Americans, they just want to suck up our lifestyle and resources! That's what pisses me off! I don't care where someone comes from, almost all of us came from somewhere else in the world, but respect our laws and come here legally. Learn our language and join our team! Quite trying to bring fucking Mexico here, if it was so great you should have stayed there! Hmmm... that would be like Kobe joining the Bulls but still wearing LA's uniform!
