We brought these girls home from a rescue shelter. Meet Ruby(white) and Bertha(brown). I think they've made themselfs at home. They have thier own couch.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic but I left the camara battery charging at work.

Did you get them at a regular shelter or a bulldog rescue? I have never seen a pure bred bully at a shelter. VERY cute. Congrats!!

Bull dog rescue. Ruby was used as a puppy mill. Poor girl has to be on seizure meds twice a day. Bertha was brought over from Russia for the same reason but was found to be to wide for the big money so they just threw her in a crate next to Ruby and left her after one litter. They are very close to each other and so sweet. I am suprised at how well they have adjusted to our family. They love to go outside and strech out and give the biggest sloppy kisses when you give them a good scratching. *sigh* I'm in love.

Oh yeah they SNORE!!! LOUD! They are comical because they snore in tandium so it's one big snore all night long:lol: Bertha even snorts all day when she's awake. They have vet appt next week to get to know our vet and check on a few things. There is suppost to be a surgery to help with thier breathing. Def going to check on it.

My ex gf and I bought one. I am biased of course but I think he is one of the best looking bulldogs I have ever seen. And they make great pets. Very cuddly. A book we picked up to learn about them before deciding to buy said be prepared because they are 60lb lap dogs and think they are poodles. LOL

I love the look of the Olde English, but they (like all bulldogs, more or less) are so damned expensive.
Vets must charge out the ass for having to play doggy midwife.

Glen bought his from a breeder. He was a stud dog, but they only breed them 2 or 3 times I think. The breeder got their moneys worth out of the dog so he wasn't that expensive. He was under 2 yo when they got him. He was already trained and house broken so it was really a good deal for them. I don't know what they paid but he said it was a lot less than a new puppy. The only thing the breeder required was that the dog be neutered.

And that seems to be sort of on the cheap side of what I've seen for pups.
Mature dogs, ex-studs/bitches, etc... yeah, I can see where that might drop the price a little.

around here bul dogs go 2 grand to 2500 easily

They are all born by C-section due to their head size so puppies are very expensive. I would love to get a bulldog but the health problems worry me. I think I may opt for an Olde English Bulldogge or Victorian Bulldogge if I do get one. They can be hard to find though.

Pretty much the norm from my experience. We paid $1800 for our Bully and that was a deal because his tail wasn't show worthy.

Many breeders require fixing your dog in contract. Mine didn't but its common. They don't want the compitetion or for you to ruin the bloodline.

Cane Corso's run at that price easily. I got ours locally for half that price.

Really ? Wow...didn't know that. That's one breed I've considered in the future as a potential pet. I know a little about them but haven't gone as far as looking into breeders etc. It will be a few years minimum if/when we move further out in the country and have more land.

You should put Brinks on the back of that UC and bring him to PA with you. Him and Manward can be friends.
