We were out riding our bikes on the Trinity trails when I noticed these guys setting something up on the banks of the river and on the railroad track bridge above the river with video cameras.

There was another guy carrying a rope with triangle handle like you use to ski and a wakeboard on the other side of the bank. The line was attached to something but we couldn't see what, but there was no boat in the water.

So he gets in the water on top of the board and we hear this motor fire up. All the sudden the line goes taunt and he goes flying, jumps the gap in the picture and does some kind of sick kickflip. Then he waxed the landing, but cool to see anyway. After that they all started taking turn after turn. It was badass, I wish I could've gotten a picture of the motor rig they were using to pull them.

All I had on me was my camera phone and I was kinda far out...

I know there's a company that makes a gas engine surf board thing with a ski rope you hold on to.

We have the Ski Rixen here which is a cable tow system that pulls you around a lake. http://www.skirixenusa.com/

I have seen a paraglider school rig up a tow rope to the back wheel of a scooter. Maybe that is similar to what these guys had?

Basically; you stretch the rope out as far as it will go, fire up the scooter and wind it back in using the wheel.
