Tried 'em all today, nothing to write home about, doesn't come close to a Chili's burger or anything like that. Not bad for $4 though I guess...the bacon is the best.

I've come to the conclusion that McD's can take the taste out of anything. The A&W Sirloin Burger is pretty damned good, but I've found that your A&W isn't anything like ours.

For some reason ours is better. The A&W burgers that I've had down there were lifeless. Now you might tend to think that's a good thing in a meal, but.....

Up here they've always been about the burgers and root beer, even back when I was a kid and they still had drive-thrus. Used to get the root beer in big 5 gallon glass jugs that looked like old hooch jugs from The Beverly Hillbillies.
And the poutine. Gotta have the poutine. Guess I know where I'm getting dinner tonight.

Poutine is a Quebec thing. If you think that the French from France have a corner on the "clog an artery" type food, then you've never seen what a Quebecois can do in the kitchen. Poutine is French fries with chunks of cheese curd melted over them by piping hot gravy. The industrial stuff like what you get at A&W up here is OK, but the best is bought from chip wagons along the side of the road; massively thick cut fries with gravy and fresh curd :yum:

Five Guys is ok, but it's fucking expensive. Almost ten bucks for a decent burger, shit fries, and a drink. For that same cash I can get a 1 pound burger at Fuddruckers and better fries. And Fuddruckers will let me get a burger medium instead of shitty well done crap at Five Guys.
And Whataburger sucks, except for their honey butter chicken biscuit, which is food of the Gods.

That's about like 'Mighty Fine'... the burger place owned by the 'Rudy's Country Store' bbq people. Their food is good, but by the time you have a meal put together you're at the $10+ mark. And don't get me started on their almost-$5-shakes.

When I lived up in Gainesville, they had just built one. The quality of the burgers was hit or miss. Sometimes it was really good, and sometimes it was a burnt piece of shit, but that's probably due to the glass sorting retards they had manning the grill. I do miss their chili cheese fries though. I don't know the total weight, after cooking, cheese, bacon, bun, and condiments, but I can polish off what Fudds considers a 1 lb burger and fries with a little room to spare. I'm up to the challenge of the Cheeburger variety. Looks like they've shut down any around here though. Fucking communist bastards.
