Yes. I should take pics of the entire basement. With the exception of the wall paint I did all the work myself so I should show it off.

Nice. :dthumb:

I would have gone .270 or 30-06, but I'm old fashioned that way. :D

I prefer the short actions. A 7mm-08 will knock down anything in this state. Ammo is not as readily available as a .308 but I can find it. If I ever want to hunt elk I'll go with a 150gr. Deer can be had here from 50 to 100 yards away. Now if I ever needed to go out to 300 yards then yeah a 30-06 or even a 300 win mag would be the right choice.

Do you reload? If so, you can put together some really kickass loads in 7mm-08.

Also, winchester power points in 154 grain work extremely well as they have a smaller bullet diameter and correct diameter for the rifling at the base of the bullet.

No I don't go though enough rounds to make it worth while. I've given it some consideration but not cost effective yet. Maybe I will when my 12yo son starts shooting more since he also has a 7mm-08.

My sons rifle, same as mine but his is a blued barrel and it has a cheaper scope on it.
