Never took my BMW F650GS on long trip before.
Left San Francisco last Friday 10 hours 650 miles later made first stop Wilsonville OR. Surprised hell out of me, 650GS rode just as comfortable as my K1200RS and S. Not as fast but still rode 75 to 80 mph. High winds do knock it around little. Nice part averaged 57 MPG at that speed =)
Next day Saturday made short trip 300 miles to San Juan island. Spent few days on San Juan island, today took ferry to Victoria Canada.
Guess Canadian customs do not like F650GS bikes. Have never had any problems going into Canada before. Today they decided to use glove treatment =( At least taking bike only took 20 mins.
Leaving Victoria Thursday for Salt Spring Island, staying few miles from Ganges till 29th. Anybody local to Salt spring like to take ride? Plan on exploring island on my bike. Head back 30th to Vancouver, then home.
Should put about 3000 miles on bike =)

Wish I could give you some info aside from how beautiful it is.

The only time I spent in the ganjes was on a 30' sail boat.

Took ride to Port Renfrew west side of Vancouver island.

Leave in morning for Salt Spring island, hope to take few pictures if Ganges smoke high does not get to me:cheers:

F650 has been most favorite bike ever owned. Does everything well. Not road racer, but if had to own one bike F650 would be it.
Did add Corbin seat along with Staintune exhuast for comfort and personel taste.

Good choice, once you go BMW you will not go back.
Been hard not to pull trigger on new Adventure. At this time lighter bike works better for me.
Enjoy comforts of your new bike:cheers:

I had the chance to pick up that exact bike for about 3k with only about 10,000 miles on it. Was expecting our first child at the time so I had to pass. Believe me, I'm kicking myself in the ass.

After your trip report, would you mind writing a review of the bike?

Just returned home yesterday, 2451 total miles. Bike performed perfectly, no break downs, no oil use. Four major travel days, 650 miles, 500 miles, 450 miles and final day 550 miles. Comfort level was surprising, never took this bike on long trip before. Owned K1200RS and K1200S which did my long distance trips before. But could not do trails took on this trip.
Freeway speeds of 70 to 80 MPH fuel mileage ranged from high 50's to low 60's per gallon =)
Few more pictures, bike leaving Salt spring island on ferry. View from dirt trail on Mount Maxwell Salt Spring island.
Have to say one thing about Canada, they have best looking women.:dribble:
Any questions feel free to ask.
