if you guys have a good deal on one, sure. if you dont have one found yet lots of ujm standards and metric cruisers roll across craigslist everyday at dirt cheap. no reason to limit your search criteria if you are simply looking for transport. my 450 was $250. i think ive put maybe $80 into it so far

I've been commuting on the S model every summer for the past 6 years - you won't be sorry. If it's the nekkid model and he spends any measurable amount of time on the highway you'll maybe want to get a small windscreen or something (YMMV of course).

A DL650 would be a better long distance commuter but the SV650 is a good all-around bike.

Excellent choice. :rockwoot:

Great commuter, and absolutely a blast on the twisties. Put some new rubber on, and you're ready to go. Maintenance is relatively simple, and parts are a plenty on fleabay. If you need help w/maintenance, mods, problems, etc., check out www.svrider.com. Great board, lots of helpful info, too. I'm Looni2ns there, too.

BTW, good color choice. Blue is faster!

Yea congrats!!! Gee, it must get lonely with your husband driving 100 miles a day...:lol:

Cute bike, I almost got one for my GF but she really liked the look of the Baby Ninja and he 250 has got to be the least dangerous and non-intimidating "crotch rocket" ever made!!!

Oh yea, good point! Hey, remember that 50cc "crotch rocket" they used to sell... not an Aprilia, I think it started with an "R" and was street legal.:idk:
