Good point but if you have seen some of the showers at a few of the tracks up here you would rather spontaneously combust.

Screw that. I don't like the shock. I'll wait until it is warm, get in and then slowly make it cooler.

Normal shower at home: If the knob is at exactly 11 o'clock, the temp will be just right. Reach in, start the shower, wait 45 seconds, then get in.

I generally scratch myself and wait for my girlfriend to get the temp right. If I'm by myself then I usually turn the water on the faucet (shower/tub combo) and then hardcore-it when I switch from the faucet to the shower.

The other thing to consider is what type of shower fixture you have. If you have a newer style one handle jobber... you don't have to worry about temp changes. If you have the 2 handle (1 hot 1 cold) dilly, then the water can radically change temps.

I think I spend 5 minutes letting the water warm up, 15minutes of adjusting the knob constantly as an adjustment of 1/1000 of an inch sends it from scolding hot to hail stones. And then 5 minutes cleaning myself.

The shower is upstairs so it takes a few minutes for the warm water to make it from the water heater so I turn the shower on...take a wizz in the toilet...step in the shower and then get on with the program.

Single handle, tiled separate shower, know right where the sweet spot is on the temp...turn it on, brush hair out (since I got a perm I have to now or I have MASSIVE knots), undress and jump in, by which time the water is perfect. If Dutch is working from the house I languish in the shower till the water runs cold, by which time it's a hundred degrees in the bathroom and I need to cool off... :lol: If he's at home, I'm out in 10 so I don't have to worry about it running cold on him. I'm like Rider, but I brush my teeth while taking a piss. I hate stepping directly into the shower for some reason, so I have the shower head on a hose. I pull the head off the clip, and usually spray my feet first, get the water going on me, then put the shower head back in the clip. After showering, I take the shower head off the clip and spray down the shower and tub to rinse off soap residue. It also makes cleaning the shower much easier when it comes time to rinse the cleaner off the walls of the shower.
