I'm gonna try to do the one at NJ Motorsports Park this year.

Road America is the closest... and still 560 miles away.

Yup... that's the shitty part of living in ND...
One "close" track, Brainerd International Raceway... 140 miles away.
Nest closest is MAM, and that's 440 miles.

well, that and a lot of straight flat regular roads...

I've only done one. I sucked at it. But all I can think about is getting back on the track.

I've got friends trying to get me interested in other things, but I tell them that I have an obsession and can't afford another one.

I'm met guys online that have quit riding on the streets and just do trackdays. I never understood it til I got out there.

ok... saying this as i have never been on the track

but...

i don't think i would ever give up street riding, for the sheer economics of it...
i mean 40 mpg vs 15 mpg... and way more fun... tough call.

i CAN see how once you've ridden the track, the street becomes less fun however...

I said that too. Now, I have two track bikes and nothing for the street except my car. I think it just depends on how much time you can afford out there. But, imho trackdays are still cheaper all around than law enforcement awards and a crash on the street.
