Thanks for the welcome Trip, nice to be here.

Hi All,

Trip and I will be working on some contests and giveaways over the next few weeks and months. Right now we're planning a mileage contest to be announced soon. If you have an idea for a contest, post it up.

Eclipse will also be offering TWF'ers a 10% discount and free shipping, just as soon as we sort out the new discount code on our site. Stay tuned for details.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about packing for trips, or motorcycle luggage in general, feel free to post 'em up.

Cheers,

Hunter

*giggle* Hi and welcome!

Little spendy compared to Nelson-Riggs and the like.

For those that have had them, quality difference? Worth the money?

Nelson Rigg nearly killed me. I'm not joking. Eclispe has been a Godsend. Well worth the money - and the customer service has been miraculous.

had a tail bag come OFF my bike at 120+ mph - it wedged between my rear tire and my swing arm. NOT a fun experience. When I called them to complain about thier shitty straps, they had NO compassion and wouldn't even send me new straps. When I talked to Eclipse about it, they were happy to send me a variety of straps, hooks, and enough webbing to keep both my kids restrained for our entire trip. And I've tested these bags to 170indicated with no problems.

Mine is miles ahead of the Chase-Harper bag it replaced... granted, it's a larger/more expensive model, but the fabric is better, the magnets are better, and the features/attention to detail are in another class altogether.

Only problem i've had after 3 years (? possibly longer) and tremendous UV exposure is that the little rubber tabs on the zippers are falling apart.

I'm not trying to sound like a dick, but 120+ with a tailbag on the bike? Really?

I've done 110+ with a tail bag on...... just felt like twisting the wrist... ehh but the bag held on...

that being said... my bags are SHIT. after looking at the quality of the tank bag Eclipse provided for the rally... if I get soft luggage again (probably not considering I'm buying a 800GS) Eclipse will be it.

Word to Bag man... I haven't seen your rain protection for the bags... but a couple words of advice... make them with some thought behind it... not as an after thought throw on like my cortech ones... Reinforce the seams... that's where they'll tear... and make some sort of strap or clip to make sure that if they come off... that they don't go fly'n down the fuck'n road... Mine are completely seprate so I have to tie the cinch strap as a security measure... other bags I've seen are attached perminantly with a elastic strap... not a bad method IMO.
