And with that, the streets of ohio are no longer safe from nts on 2 wheels...
|
Yea buddy. time to come on down to my neck of the woods and ride.
so i found a tiny beet of oil under my filter today on the pavement... FUCK. |
could it be just a spot you missed when wiping it down after? and not a new leak?
|
its new. first time i really rev'd the bike after installing new filter, imma give it a second chance before i tear that bitch apart.
|
damn... did ja remember to coat the rubber gasget with a bit of oil?
where's it coming from? |

maybe i didnt tighten it enough... i was always taught to tighten the filter by hand in a car and that should suffice. i did the same on my bike.... maybe i should have consulted the bike gods. |
:idk: yeah I do the same as you... on my truck I fill the filter with oil... but it sits tilted up a bit so I don't have to worry about spilling it... on the bike... that'd be tough to do.
good luck though... I fuck'n hate shit like that... my oil level was a headache for me for a bit... one day I'd go out and it'd be perfect... next day the spy glass would be empty... (didn't have any oil so didn't add any) bought some oil the next day... and the oil would be back to perfect... :idk: (still didn't figure it out... but I think I may have been tipping the bike a little past perfectly upright... as I didn't have stands) |
uh, did you ever consider you were checking your oil on an uneven surface? or maybe gremlins were drinkin your oil and pissin it back in your engine.
|
no it was the same surface every time... but I think when I lifted the bike off the stand... I wasn't getting it perfectly straight up and down every time... though didn't figure it would make THAT much of a diffrence :idk:
oh well that was a while ago... haven't had that issue in a while |
