My BIL/SIL have a new 2010 Traverse. The thing is real nice. They have the bottom end version yet it comes completely loaded with the norms. Power locks, mirrors, windows, keyless entry. Its 3rd row seating is bigger than my 2nd row in my Trailblazer. The thing is a BIG vechicle. Its no small SUV.

I can't speak on MPG... but I can ask.

Yeah the third row is impressive on them. The Acadia has more head room in the back though since the roof line is straight where the Buick and Chevy curve down a little bit in the back. That was one of the reasons we went with the GMC and not the Buick. Besides, the wood steering wheel and the analog clock on the Buick made it feel like an old man car but it was quieter than the GMC

It is a 5000 lb vehicle so that v6 has to work hard so the mileage isn't that great. Like I said before, my average is 15.2 with mostly city driving.

My sister is looking at a Traverse so this thread is great!

It doesn't get Equinox MPG but its better than a full size truck.

The factory tow package is rated at 4.5K lbs. I don't know what the Honda is.

I got some dirty looks as I passed a couple pickups towing ATVs up the RT 80 hill coming away from the Delaware river in PA. I was towing a 16 ft Boston Whaler with a 90 horse Yamaha on it, way heavier then they were pulling. Oh yea, I averaged 15mpg for the trip. I love this van.

The hull was about 1000.

Rigged and loaded on a trailer about 2000.

Sounds about right, if not a bit on the high side. A couple big boy ATVs and equipment on a trailer will weigh a similar amount.
