One thing I thought was cool was the ticket scanner thing. As in you can buy an airline ticket and use your Ipod as a boarding pass thingy. )

I can't see boarding agents accepting a screen image of a boarding pass

I think actually when you get your boarding pass at the front (not sure of hte process being I've only flown a few times). But you pull up your ticket and this bar code thing appears on your screeen. Somoene scans it and you are set to go.

yeah, Z has an app for her droid that replicates the bar codes for grocery stores and the likes, pretty cool app

Not sure if it's the same thing he's talking about, but I get the option to download a barcode boarding pass to my iphone, and I can (supposedly) scan it from the screen of my phone at security and at the gate. Haven't had the nerve to try it yet.

I've done it many times (only certain airports support it though). They just scan your phone screen.

You can check in to your flight from your phone and not bother with the ticket counter.

That's it. I remember even seeing something about it at I think O'Hare too.

So the agent takes their scanner and scans the image on your iPhone?

Never thought I'd see the day where they didn't require a printout.

anthonyk 07-02-2010 06:15 PM

Actually, you just put your phone face-down on their scanner in all the places I've seen it.

Yep. It works well unless your battery dies. Ask me how I know
