Truth!

Hey, it's good money (but drill weekends suck, lowering you hourly wage FTL) and good bennies. And with luck, a good foot in the door to me getting an AGR position.

I applied for 6. Have for sure 2 interviews.
Wish me luck!

Luck! I'm in the pipeline to hopefully get an AGR job with the unit I've been working ADOS for the last year.. after I get phase II of 42A in April, everything should be good to go.

The spots I'm interviewing for are 42A slots. I'll have to MOSQ if I get the job.
Hoping for good things as the full timers I work with are pretty well respected, and gave me letter of rec, and I'm pretty good in the eyes of the Major that is the selecting OIC.

You should be good to go. I do highly recommend the 42A school at Camp Parks (but def. get your unit to authorize a rental car.. you'll have enough time on the weekend to go check out the Bay Area). I'll let you know how Phase II goes in Hawaii. :D Don't know if you'd be able to get it out there.. I had to work a drug deal there since my kids moved out there with their dad (he just got title 10 orders until Sep 2010.. it works out better for the kids to be with him since I'm going to be away so much between pre-mob training and deployment).

Not sure where they normally send us? :idk: I think it is somewhere in CA though.
And why would I need a rental car? I'd driving out there! Bike in the back of the pickup and I'm good to go, it's only 1800 miles from here to there.

Whatever spins your wheels. My ass flew. Unless you get both phase 1 and 2 back to back at Camp Parks, I didn't see the point in driving out there, but that was me (I only did phase 1 out there). :D Hell, it's like 1800 miles just to get out of Texas from Austin (exaggerating.. sort of.. :panic: ).

Anyhoo... I'm a threadjacking fool today.

ETA: As far as where they normally send you, it just depends on what's available in the time frame you want to go and what the State is willing to pay for (at least here in TX). There's another school that does 42A in Georgia, I believe.. hell, there's one that teaches it in Germany (3747th MFTB-E.. I used to be an 88N instructor in that unit). It just all depends upon availability, and how desperate they are in getting you into that school.
