ETA: As far as where they normally send you, it just depends on what's available in the time frame you want to go and what the State is willing to pay for (at least here in TX). There's another school that does 42A in Georgia, I believe.. hell, there's one that teaches it in Germany (3747th MFTB-E.. I used to be an 88N instructor in that unit). It just all depends upon availability, and how desperate they are in getting you into that school.

ND has it's schools that it "likes"
Maintenance is Camp Dodge IA or Camp Ripley MN
Como is Sacramento, etc.

I drive, cause they pay mileage, so it's covered, and I can have my bike out there. Putting on 1000+ miles of new roads while getting paid to be at school is awesome. I drove out to UT last Aug, that was about 1500 miles.

If they have one in Germany though, I may be able to get it while on deployment. Good way to get out of Kosovo for awhile. :D

Of all of mine, only 2 were voluntary. All others were seasonal jobs, I had to leave for school, or I got laid off.

Some of mine were part-time jobs I held while also having a full-time job. Plus I'm old.:lol:
