That was an interesting first ride of the new year

First motorcyclist I passed ( two fingers pointed towards the ground ), I waved to and he flipped me off :gofurslf:

Nothing like a "I'm better than you" Harley rider to start the riding season on a high note

All the other motorcyclists I passed either waved or nodded. ( Yes, that includes every other single HD that I passed, even the BMW rider waved)

Got just over 50 miles in today. Felt good to be out. I stayed on the major roads since the secondary roads are so filled with pot holes they look like they've been bombed. :willy:

Wow, hope he feels good being such a cool douchebag.

Captain Morgan 02-27-2011 05:35 PM

I will never understand some people. Glad you got out on two. Our roads, even the primary ones, are also filled with potholes.

That was Roger. He lost all his fingers on that hand in an accident when he was 4 weeks old His parents had ferrets. All that's left is his middle finger. He wasn't flipping you off, he was just waving back.

Not exactly. The road wasn't that wide and I could see the hate in his eyes.

Exactly. For that split second and I wanted to turn around to kick his handlebars towards the ditch as I rode past. But I figured why lower myself to his level.

Having your fingers chewed off by a ferret, leads to an onset of hostile behavior by men in ass-less leather pants.

Then again, he may have lost is fingers in a belt chroming incident.

That's the problem with Roger. You never know when he's lying.

Thats my usually response from Harley guys around my area.

Mr Lefty 02-27-2011 09:10 PM

to me that tell me they're riding the wrong bike... sorry but unless you cut me off or somehow piss me off... i'm in a great mood anytime I sit on my bike...

Sixxxxer 02-27-2011 09:29 PM

Some people just think its about what brand your on not that your just out there riding.

I've had countless people tell me..."When are you gonna get a real bike"

Im sorry, I wasnt aware I was riding a fake one.

tommymac 02-27-2011 09:35 PM

I thought that was a NY thing, I notice when I am out of the tristate area almolst everyone waves/is friendly towards other bikers.

I love the dumbasses who tell me I am on a rice rocket yet am either on a buell or an aprilia

Sixxxxer 02-27-2011 09:36 PM

Some people think I ride a Suzuki!! :lol

had that split second when it pissed me off and then I was laughing. I had a nice ride ( and the Gerbing G3's work GREAT )

thirdgenlxi 02-27-2011 11:46 PM

That's why I generally don't even bother waving at HD's anymore... I've gotten either this or a nose up in the air a few too many times, so I gave up. Anybody else I'll wave at and most times they'll always return the gesture. HD's I'll just wait and if they wave at me, I'll happily return it. If not... ehhhh f**k 'em

And I too get the "when are you gonna get a real bike" thing.... idiots. I tell them when their jalopy makes it to 200k and is still road worthy

Gas Man 02-28-2011 07:22 AM

For the record...

I wave at everybody and I ride HD.

Just saying...

azoomm 02-28-2011 08:11 AM

Damn Roger...

I like Roger more than all the people that throw cigarette butts out windows. In fact, I bet Roger just had my back by flipping off the cagers in front of him while I drove by.

pauldun170 02-28-2011 09:46 AM

When I go out everybody waves back. The morning crew is a lot friendlier.

z06boy 02-28-2011 10:10 AM

Most wave...may not actually wave but do acknowledge around here...two fingers pointed down...a head nod or whatever but there's always knuckleheads in the crowd. A friend on his Speed Triple and me on my R1 went to grab some lunch yesterday right in the middle of Harley Heaven ...a large HD dealership and two HD themed restaraunts. Suck Bang and Blow is one of them and The Iron Thunder Saloon. We don't really care what crowd we're in...had a blast.

to bad NO ONE waves in MI... I rode from top to bottom and only waves came from cars... then again I was on the DRZ so they were probably trying to figure out WTF I was on

All the other HD's waved or nodded. I consider two wheels a big brother/sisterhood of fellow enthusiasts.

Yeah exactly! I do the same even if it's against the norm.

G-Rex 02-28-2011 07:46 PM

Some people are just douchebags and have forgotten the most basic thing:

We are all riders.

I concur! :withstupid:

LeeNetworX 03-02-2011 07:58 AM

I'm sick of waving. I don't bother most of the time unless the other riders wave or nod first. I'm more focussed on the road and what's going on around me to care about waving at every person on two wheels.
