Its honda so pretty soon they will offer a robot who will ride it for you as well.

I understand why they are doing it, but I don't like it. However, this is nothing new or particularly innovative. They've had automatics for what, like 40 years? The faux-manual mode is somewhat interesting, but I sure as hell wouldn't want one.

I would think that is the tranny meant fortheir upcoming redesign in the ST1300. It fits in well with the FJ and Concours mission statements. The new sporttourer is said to share alot with the new interceptor...

That stuff needs to be on a goldwing. Not on a sport orientated bike.

I like how they try to make regular clutches look cumbersome by having the guy use all 4 fingers. Not only that, but he takes his fingers off the lever and then puts them back on between every single upshift. Nobody does that. :rolleyes:

That's how I do it. I use all 4 fingers and return them to the grip after each shift. I guess if I was drag racing or sequentially downshifting quickly, then maybe not.

I usually use all 4 to hold the lever back during a red light, but once I've started to move again, I put my ring finger and pinky finger back on the clipon, and just use the other 2 fingers to upshift. I figured that was how most people do it.

Same here, even at the track.

I don't think I've used anything other than two fingers on each lever. I also keep those two fingers on each hand covering the levers at all times- they never go down to the clipons. I learned that way riding dirtbikes as a kid, and it just stuck.

I only clutch on downshifts?

Yeah I got that from a trackday instructor. You don't need to pull back the lever all the way anyway, so 2 fingers is enough to give it a nudge.
