10 most beautiful cars of this decade

Mercedes-Benz CLS — Though it might not be the most outrageously beautiful car ever, the CLS paved the way for other four-door coupe-styled vehicles like the Volkswagen CC and even the 2011 Hyundai Sonata[/B].
http://www.autospotters.com/images/M...-55-amg-92.jpg
Maserati GranTurismo — This long, lean, sassy two-plus-two is an Italian masterpiece. Great to look at, and even better to drive, it has breathed new life into the Maserati brand.

Aston Martin DB9 — Aston's signature styling language has never looked better on this stunning Grand Tourer. A stylish, elegant coupe that is sure to turn heads at every stoplight.

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizone — Art on wheels, pure and simple. Alfa's 8C could easily go down in history as one of the best-looking cars of all time.

Audi R8 — The R8 is a few years old now, but it's still one of the most striking vehicles on sale today. It doesn't look like anything else on the road and it was the first to wear Audi's now-signature LED daytime running lamps.
http://articlesofton.files.wordpress..._frtright1.jpg
Nissan 350Z (2004-2008) — When Nissan re-launched the Z sports car in the early 2000s, its unique shape and cunning design helped set it apart from other two-seaters, and rekindled our fondness for one of Japan's best enthusiast machines.

Audi TT (2000-2006) — Audi's TT, in its current form, is a pretty little sports car, but it's the original TT's design that steals our hearts. As far as iconic designs of the twenty-first century go, this one will easily be remembered for decades to come.
http://gallery.hartmannwheels.com/do...172_1980_1.jpg
Lamborghini Murciélago — At first glance, it is obvious that the Murciélago is nothing short of Italian supercar goodness. As good to drive as it is great to look at, the Murc created a whole new design language for Lamborghini, and its strong design is sure to age well in the coming decades.

Ferrari 599 — The 599 two-plus-two is elegant, sophisticated, and pure Ferrari, as is the sweet-sounding V-12 under the bonnet.
http://moryhp88.files.wordpress.com/...ri-fiorano.jpg
Porsche Cayman — Porsche's 911 may be one of the most recognizable designs of all time, but its gotten quite large over the years. The smaller, nimbler Cayman is an even better driver's car with classic Porsche style.

Damn good list... A couple others that deserved mention, but I don't disagree with any of those, esp the Benz and the Audis.

Speedracer42 12-24-2009 11:50 AM

I wouldn't personally include the TT or the Gran Turismo. But generally a good list and to me the CLS and the Aston are just stunning

goof2 12-24-2009 12:05 PM

I agree about the TT and Gran Turismo not necessarily deserving to be on the list. I love the CLS, but I would take the Cigarette behind it every time (plus it is worth more than any car on this list).

Homeslice 12-24-2009 12:51 PM

Why doesn't the Gran Turismo belong? I think it looks great, as does the Aston.

Neither of the Audis belong, IMO........The TT looks like an upside down bathtub.. Its doors are too slab-sided, and the dash is too high (the disadvantages of being built off a Golf platform). And as for the R8, its front end belongs on a sedan, not a supercar.

As for the Ferrari 599, it has none of the classic Ferrari style. I'd rather have an old 328 or GTO, or a 360 Modena.

And the Murcielago? Too many sharp edges and slab-sided features. The Diablo was better looking.

Cutty72 12-24-2009 01:06 PM

None of 'em really appeal to me at all.
Guess it must be cause foreign super cars don't do anything for me.

TYEster 12-24-2009 01:18 PM

Sweet I own one on the list. Too bad it doesn't appreciate in value because of it.

Amorok 12-24-2009 01:25 PM

Why do all of those cars look like electric shavers? Is that what passes for beautiful now?

My electric shaver has a triangular head, don't see any resemblance to them cars.

.

The Gran Turismo has a narrow track and wide body. Its ugly and a huge pet peeve of mine. It has has big bulging fenders yet the tire and wheel combo is more the look of a Buick and not big sporty tires and wheels. The grill is much too big. Too me its a poorly done copy of the Aston.
The 599 has some of the same flaws but is still much better looking.

Kind of like Challengers and Mustangs.
Shit, Probes had better stance than Mustangs.

GT2 ftw...

I don't find any thing on that list as top 10 material. Who did the choosing?

yuck. typical german, take a horrible design and engineer it until it works...kind of

BobTheBiker 12-25-2009 02:13 PM

Of all of those cars, I'm really not a fan of most of them. the R8 is an exception, since I just love its style, but yeah. everything else, nope.

but of course my idea of beautiful is a 1964 mustang coupe, or the newer ford GT really.

You have to give them credit. The early 911's were shit. The latest are PHENOMINAL cars. And with such small changes over the years it really is a GREAT looking car.

I guess I'm one of the minority that finds the 911 bodystyle sexy. Most of the cars on that list seem to try and mimic 60's sexy Jag body lines and just don't cut it with the modern twist...

Tmall 12-26-2009 07:56 AM

Maybach? Veyron? Ccx?

all i can see is a car whose engine layout was made obsolete a year after it came out by an italian tractor company. Stuff a gt2 drivetrain in a cayman and stick a whaletail on it and ill be happy

Well, if it paved the way for the 2011 Hyundai Sonata, what more really needs to be said? :ts:

And the Audi TT? :lol An iconic design of the 21st century, to be remembered for decades to come? :lol Dude, you are soooooooooo high.
