  Neat pictures! :beers:

cool stuff, lot o turtles there. I read soem stuff last week about the problesm with the cold and the sea turtles.
Wonder if they would migrate south, we have spots up here on LI where some of them make nests for the hatchlings. |
I think I see the teenage mutant ones...
|
Cool pics.
|
Holy crap, those things are huge! Did you just throw them overboard or do you go out and gently place them back in the water?

she already said no to the alligator. |
Haven't seen those since I was living on St. Croix.
One of the beaches there was a protected nesting area and you could go on nighttime turtle watch type excursions. |

Actually, I can see where light would affect them if the water is to the east. They might interpret the hotel lights to be the rising sun on the horizon. :idk: |
Wow those are big! That's pretty cool you got to release some of them.
Yea turtles can smell, had two painted turtles when I was younger, only lasted 2 months before mom made me take them back to the lake. |
That is too cool, I read the article, said the Gulfarium there in FWB took in quite a few for rehab and return. Good job!
|
I haven't heard about this. It's cool they were able to bring them in like that.
|
Those turtles should have been left alone.
Do people not understand what evolution by NATURAL selection means? |
That's really neat!! Thanks for sharing!

If you think the state of our Oceans has anything to do with natural selection, you're dead wrong. We've been dumping our crap in the Seas since the beginning. We always thought that they were so vast, that they could absorb whatever we tossed in. We were wrong, and it's not just turtles that are at risk. Without the Oceans, there is no Earth. End of story. Tell that to the millions of cyanobacteria that created an oxygen rich environment killing of the primary inhabitants on earth. Humans are natural. Like it or not. |

Some of those suckers are big!

Smallpox and polio were natural, too
Seems like we shouldn't have invented those vaccines, it screwed up natural selection. |

No, that's not Florida. It's just a random photo of the kind of shit us "Natural" humans dump in the sea on a regular basis. The only difference between third world countries and us, is the distance from shore we dump our trash. So, you want an answer, here you go: Did Humans evolve naturally? It depends on how you look at it. On one hand, you could say no, because as we developed, we got smarter, and invented all kinds of wonderful chemicals that were not present in nature until we found ways to mix them together. Those chemicals went on save many of us, who would have died without them. On the other hand, you could argue that it is because of our earlier evolution, that we were finally able to come up with all those chemicals in the first place. Both views could be considered accurate. If it's your contention, that since we are smarter than turtles, they should just have to "deal with" the shit we throw at them, and other marine species, then you are a shortsighted fool. On a final note, save your High School Latin for someone else. I'm not impressed. JC |
I've read enough of your nonsense on the site to know it's not even worth arguing with you.
And I never took Latin in high school. But I do know when someone isn't adressing the argument at hand. |

If my argument was as weak as your is, I'd back out too. JC |
