All the talk about MJ legalization, all the news articles and all the dispensaries in CA....yet people are still going to prison. I just read yesterday where the Iditarod is about to start drug testing, which is going to fuck their champion and resident badass, Lance Mackey, because he uses Pot on the trail. Nevermind the fact that pot DOES NOT enhance performance and that he's a fucking throat cancer survivor.

The person who put together that story seemed eager to use the phrase "completely legal". State and federal governments selectively enforcing laws doesn't make something legal. The title of the story is a little disingenuous as well. The stoner kid is exactly who I would picture setting up a dispensary. His mom hopping on board to make some coin and get high doesn't change the "face" of medical marijuana.

Maybe you should look up the very first act used to criminalize Marijuana.

The Marijuana tax act. You had to have the government weigh and tax your marijuana before it could be legally sold or transported.

Unfortunately, the mere act of taking it to the tax office for weighing and taxation was a technically a crime, so not a single stamp was ever issued, to my knowledge. They have, however, popped up on Ebay as a collector curiosity from time to time.
