Turtle Wax Ice (Pics)

This stuff is pretty good. I wouldn't classify it as a wax, more of a polish...

It also is awesome because it leaves no white residue behind, and if you use it on black plastic, it acts like some of that tire wet and makes it nice and shiny.

First: MASSIVE drool factor on that FZ1
Second: DAYUM! I don't think I've ever seen a polish that works on the painted bits AND the black plastic bits. I think I'll have to go out looking for this stuff tomorrow. Where'd you find this stuff?!
Third: Did I mention that's a kickass FZ1?

marko138 03-30-2010 08:45 PM

Wow, looks nice.

Does jedi mind trick actually mean threaten him with physical violence? I am pretty sure that would work.

Thanks man.

This weekend I think I'm going to try to black out the silver parts:

Radiator Guards, Passenger Foot Pegs, and Rear Sets

Adeptus_Minor 03-31-2010 10:41 AM

Nice job. :dthumb:
I wish I had the patience to detail my bike out like that, even if only once or twice a year.

Perhaps, but I'd have to get the road grime out of all the nooks & crannies first.
You can't polish dirt.

Not sure yet, probably going to get some kind of engine enamel for durability.

ericr 03-31-2010 08:51 PM

Damn, I've been lusting after a red '08 FZ1 since they came out! If you get tired of it, let me know!!

I'm hoping I can sell my bike this spring and find a good used one.

BTW, the shine is real purtty ;)

I did use a bottle of Rain-x spray on wax sunday and its decent. I'm not a big fan of spray on waxes.

Hey Ranger, what is the story with the pipe going in to your muffler? It doesn't look factory.

The previous owner of my bike put pretty much the same Micron high mount on. I haven't had any desire to change it. It sounds good without being stupid loud like some of the GP style dumps people put on now. It looks good on the VFR.

Gas Man 04-01-2010 08:29 PM

Actually it looks real good on the vfr with the SSS

Rangerscott 04-01-2010 11:06 PM

I love the lumpy idle sound and the loud ass GP sound when getting on here. :rockwoot: Dam she's loud when she's got no muff.

Dude, this stuff is freakin' GOLD.

I picked some up and did a few spots tonight just to see how it would look on the plastic parts and holy CRAP.

How many coats of this Ice did you put on? I did a quicky 1 coat deal on my Jeep. I was not blown away by the results.

Yea me too... my gf bought it for her bike because of all the black pieces and we weren't exactly amazed either... Of course, I normally use Maguires Tech wax which isn't exactly cheap.

That stuff works great imho. It doesn't seem to last very long (I have the original older stuff and not the 2.0) but it sure puts a hell of a shine on the Vette. I haven't tried it on the bikes but may have too.

first coat on an older bike seems to fade fast but 2nd and 3rd coats appear to stick (so far)
