How often often do you break the law?

stolen from another forum, but its a good topic:

How often from week to week month to month do you break the law? I mean the big stuff and the small stuff, parking, crossing lines, indicators, speeding and so on? Do you have one law you always seem to break like parking in a particular place or just pushing over the speed limit in one particular spot?

personally, almost every ride i go on, i am prolly guilty of speeding, as far as passing illegally, i have been known to do it time to time, but such is life

what about you guys?

anything you are willing to fess up to?

Cutty72 02-28-2008 01:20 PM

Pretty sure I at least speed once every time i go out, cage or bike... it just happens.

Rider 02-28-2008 01:23 PM

Every time I'm on the bike. Usually it just speeding or failing to signal. I don't break the law other than that.

dReWpY 02-28-2008 01:24 PM

i just paid my 114 dollars to society this morning, i hate the speeding laws, esp when your innocent, you cant win

Nighthawk 02-28-2008 01:26 PM

Is this outside of bank jobs, car jacking and DnD?

Switch 02-28-2008 01:39 PM

Never.

t-homo 02-28-2008 01:44 PM

I speed most of the time, car or bike. I pass illegally sometimes if I feel its safe. Always use signals just because I hate it when people in front of me don't.

Only when I'm forced to do so by the voices in my head.

dReWpY 02-28-2008 02:27 PM

i thought about it, just starting half of our bikes is a gross display of horsepower

05svr650 02-28-2008 03:01 PM

Everytime I get on my bike I am illegal. No mirrors, no tag, no front turn signals, no speed limit

byron12 02-28-2008 04:17 PM

I speed quite a bit I smoke pot regularly and I killed my first wife....

JoJoYZF 02-28-2008 04:22 PM

Every time I leave the house. In the cage I dont have a front plate (yes, ohio actually does require one for some reason), I speed, and when Im switching lanes on the highway I almost never signal, and sometimes pass illegally. On 2 mostly just speeding, occasional illegal pass.

t-homo 02-28-2008 05:39 PM

MO doesn't require blinkers or mirrors for some reason. You would still need a tag though. Why don't you have one, just curious.

+1... me too... People (for the most part) drive pretty fast here anyway, and then I stay a few mph ahead of the flow of traffic, so speeding is inevitable.

But other than that  nothing... I don't pass illegally, I always use my turn signals, I don't lane split.

NONE_too_SOFT 02-28-2008 06:45 PM

ha i break the damn law every time i drive... until april at least.

even w/o that i do it all the time, practically every time i go to the bar.

Mrs. Colleen 02-28-2008 08:07 PM

My bike's speedometer is broken so I am sure I am guilty of speeding every time I go out.

Oh yeah...car speedometer works...

t-homo 02-28-2008 10:36 PM

I haven't had a speedo on my bike since august. Good thing it only gets up to about 100 anyway.

itgirl 02-28-2008 10:44 PM

hmmm, let's just say i wouldn't be breaking the law if they'd legalize the shit...

I believe two of the three...

No way you're a speeder.

I break the law to varying degrees every day...

pickle.of.doom 02-28-2008 11:10 PM

Only for a brief period through the corners. I do the speed limit on the straights. If I'm gonna get points on the old license it better be for something fun, not boring ass fast-in-a-straight-line shit.

Mr Lefty 02-29-2008 04:54 AM

I'm ALWAYS speeding... 5mph over almost everywhere... really it's more like 5mph faster than traffic which is like 10-15 over the posted limit.

I rarely pay attention to curbs or small shrubs in my truck...

that's about it I think...

I didn't want to drill thru my hotbodies undertail. I have it under my seat...?

I am making custom brackets.

DLIT 02-29-2008 07:26 AM

Every day I ride/drive. More small than big.

azoomm 02-29-2008 08:54 AM

I was too much of a speeder. Now I take it to the track :)

nyricanf15` 03-01-2008 10:45 AM

I'm usually traveling 10+ over on the open roads but try to keep it only 5 over in town. These cops are really board and look for things to do.

Gas Man 03-01-2008 11:45 AM

Man... when I was on the rocket for the last year it got real real bad. I was riding down the highway all the time to meet up with WOS. I had been on the 9R for more than a few years.

On the highway it was one handed... never under 100mph. Traffic didn't change much just made it more interesting. I started to see how fast I could make it from Point A to Point B 45 miles in 20 mins... OK. 1.75 hr drive turns into a .75 (45min) ride.

Day or night didn't matter. Day I could see the cops. Night I couldn't but a sportbike looks like a sportbike... they can't see color or model so its easy to get lost from them.

Splittin lanes and even dabbling in stunts all got to be regular activities. It was usually right after doing some stupidity that I realized... "Damn that was kinda stupid". I then figured I was chancing everything I have including my life, job, and home for a few moments of adreline (sp?).

So I changed up the bike of choice... the rest is choppa history.

Now in the cage... espeically with the SS... I'm constantly speeding...

Sounds pretty intense. How much stunting did you get into?

Dave 03-01-2008 07:04 PM

hrmm well i keep it mostly to speeding, though the nsx has punched out cats and belches fireballs if i get too aggressive with the throttle. hrmm speaking of which, my buddy was riding with me a few weeks ago and brought along his V1, it was night, very little traffic on the highway and i quickly discovered that the nsx will easily do 160 and keep pulling hard. i really want to know where it tops at but we ran out of space and its really not worth my life or driving priv's to find out. maybe after i do the engine re-build i want in a few years i'll take it to utah and find out the right way ;)

mlkx3 03-01-2008 07:21 PM

Hmm. Just did today, dam motorcycle cop was behind me. He didn't care to much, just said how would it look if I didn't stop you. :dthumb: to you for not sticking it to me!!

I would have to say every day, but thats only because I couldnt follow posted speed limits if my life depended on it...other than that, theres not much else that I do that is breaking the law, i use my signals, I dont make illegal turns...i am a good girl other than my speed!

dReWpY 03-04-2008 12:55 PM

and u never pass on a double yellow?

No Worries 03-11-2008 06:01 PM

First post! To ride safely in the mountains and canyons you have to pass on the double yellow. I just hope a cop will believe that if I ever get stopped. At least I rarely speed.

So any insight into that new Law about the mountain roads in CO being hazard areas?
