The baron

I've mentioned her before so why not post a thread? my new whip, an 87' T1 Lebaron auto

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...1_121351-1.jpg

slowly transferring all my goodies from the daytona. this car is in retardedly good shape for her age

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...519_154633.jpg

spent most of the day pulling this stuff...full topend off my daytona for the T2 conversion. decent street cam, light port head, ported exhaust mani, two piece intake, and a 2.5 swingvalve that can accept a 3in exhaust :rockwoot:

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...530_212556.jpg

gotta get the downpipe, 5 speed, and the rest of the gauges soon

101lifts2 05-31-2011 01:15 AM

Non-convertible would have been better. Does this have the A413 Torqueflte 3 speed auto? If so...sweet.

I wanted a turbovan. the only reasonable one in the area was sold out from under me. there was a black GTC VNT 5 speed coupe for sale at the same time but it was in terrible shape with tons of rust.

I think you mean a413, but yep that one. its getting a a555 5 speed with the close ratio getrag gears :dribble:

those are clearly SSR comps and have nothing to do with spinning and everything to do with being lighter than fuck :P

Homeslice is desperately trying to suppress his desire to post in this thread.

Back in the day they were good cars and the car to get if you wanted a convertible at a decent price.
That looks like its going to be fun little sleeper when you are done.

Its bizarre seeing one without paint issues on the hood and trunk. It seemed the little white clouds would show up 3 months after it left the dealer lot.

Digging the little Dodge shadow in the background

That shadow is a random base model with the es appearance package in her moms neighborhood.

The paint itself is original. The clearcoat did cloud but the previous owner sanded and refinished it

Don't know why I got away from 2.2/2.5s, I really love the character of this engine. Can't wait for this scholarship to kick in so I can get the 3in pipe

Particle Man 05-31-2011 05:20 PM

All of the ones I've seen have the top all effed up.

Avatard 05-31-2011 05:48 PM

Nice. Is it for, your GF?

Corey 05-31-2011 06:04 PM

'Where's your Le Baron, Freddy? Where's your Le Baron? How many Le Barons? Are there two Le Barons?'

First thing that comes to mind for any Le Baron. That one looks very clean.

Hell, at any level. Sorry.

Avatard 06-02-2011 12:56 PM

I'm sorry about what your vehicle says about your sexual orientation (PSSSSSST: The engine is turning the wrong wheels).

My cars (one actually runs...the rest are being restored):

1974 K5 Blazer Monster Truck 350 4-speed 44" tires
!971 Chevelle 350/4-speed ~325 hp
1969 Corvette L48 4-speed 350 hp
1994 LT1 Corvette convertible 6-speed 300 hp
1999 Ford Expedition 4.7 V8, auto

Not a homosexual vehicle in the stable, mate. Yes, my cars consume gas. Men's big cars and trucks do that...it's the price of not being gay, and having cars that don't suck.

Listen, you can always try and save face most of the time by having your GF drive, at least. Just pretend it isn't yours...

;)

No, douchenozzle, I build most of my own engines (and have built a few for friends). By now, I kinda know what cam and compression will get ya what, though. It's not rocket surgery, or anything like working on that toy shit you drive.

Oh, and I'm latin, and don't need to compensate with my vehicles. While I drove a monster truck as a daily driver, I also raced pocketbikes.

I like powerful machines both big and small.

I guess I just hate your car because it's gay.

Here's a good bet, and it wouldn't require a dyno:

Any one of my rides probably has a blower motor that has more HP than your car.

Don't cry, just buy a man's car next time.

Pot doesn't make you "hip" just helps you fuck up spelling it.

Avatard 06-02-2011 10:04 PM

That's how not hip you actually are, you don't even know the word "hep". Hep predates hip by a chunk. It predates me by a chunk, but I know it, because I'm hip.

My Cadillac had 320 hp:lol: stock. redflip

Other than just being your usual dolt self, the Lebaron is kind of a neat car, though I don't like convertibles. My brother had a 86 4 door Lebaron turbo with the three speed auto. The girgling sounds the engine/turbo made were kinda sweet.

defector 06-02-2011 11:21 PM

Wasn't there a Dodge/ Maserati combo with some of those K cars? I could swear that I had one of those in my shop for something a while back.

Maserati TC. basically a rebodied lebaron. top trim level cars are highly sought after due to a maserati engineered DOHC head attached to the chrysler 2.2 turbo block and one of the strongest manual trans from the iacocca era

See, I myself would have gone for the Volvo.
They take hop-ups nicely. ;)

Still, for an '87, that's a pretty decent example.
The only LeBarons I see around here look twice their age and are probably held together with baling wire and duct tape.

My best friend and I went joyriding in a turbo lebaron in high school. Belonged to a friend of his dad, and I remember it being pretty damn fun.

Rust. Never. Sleeps.

I have a SHITLOAD to do...but I first need to finish building my studio (now literally just a few more weeks of work) and get a few more needs (mostly tools).

I wanna change my garage door (need #1), to a roll-up affair, in order to make room for another need (#2); a two post asymmetrical lift. I also plan to get (#3) a rotisserie, a body lift gantry attachment for my engine crane (#4) and a TIG welder/Plasma cutter (#5).

Could I make do without all that? Probably. I've done more with less before, but like you said, I have a LOT to do...and I'm not as young, or as mobile as I used to be. If I'm going to manage to do justice to these cars, I'm going to need to make it as easy as possible...

There's green algae, moss, whatever the fuck, growing on even the plastic shit in the yard; like that Rubbermaid shed...and even the vinyl siding of the house. The house is actually grey, but you wouldn't know it...most of it's pretty fucking green. Textured too, from where the slugs eat little swirly trails through the green shit.

Shit's just fucking gross, man. Jersey eats a dick. How I came to be here is a long, sad story, but suffice to say, I kinda feel like I got punked. If I wasn't nearly underwater with this joint, and I wasn't already nearly 90% done the studio, I'd be gone already.

If I go out in the yard, I come in with at least 2 ticks. Woke up the other day with one suckling on my left nip. I had a hot, feverish, B-cup left boob for 3 days (giggity).

If this place didn't have a honking A/C unit that knocks all the moisture down to tolerable levels, I'd have gone totally fucking postal already. In the 5 minutes outside it took to snap those pics, I totally soaked my shirt.

Jersey may have its own slogans, but I'm sticking with mine:

NJ; moist as a fat girl's buttcrack

I'll stick with CNY

Like the yellow K5.

Always thought those were cool.

Turns out twenty four year old vac hose doesn't hold boost well. Hit fuel cut on the way to school yesterday, took a look and the line is ballooned around the nipple on the vac can. Awesome, guess I'm building a new vac harness soon

"Overnight parts from japan" :lol

Fixed all the leaks and added the boost controller. Making a nice 10psi now,

Hah that avc-r is about twenty years old.

The one on top runs the car for a few minutes after you pull the key to keep oil from cocking up the feed line to the turbo. Bottom one is a electronic boost controller

Avatard 07-03-2011 10:28 PM

Tell the truth, that thing on top is a light sabre.

Whatevski. Prob a guy behind you somewhere that never made it past steam.

Don't suppose you've heard about the engine in the next gen vette?

Avatard 07-03-2011 11:28 PM

Meh. It's impressive, in a supercomputer kinda way.

I prefer shit that grabs you by the nads, and says "sex".

The new 'Vette looks like a fucking shoe.
