Round 12 Indy 08/28/11 **SPOILERS**
 

This is how I see it...This is a huge track, but not very high speed...Last year Stoner had a DNF and Pedrosa had the "W"...Spies scored a 2nd place behind Dani boy...And you gotta wonder if this hurricane will screw up the race the same way Ike did...

--Stoner: 7 wins in 11 races this year (stuff that in your win percentage book)
--Lorenzo: very beatable lately and Dovi is only 23 points behind him
--Dovizioso: one of the most consistent riders in GP, and may end up beating JLo in points
--Rossi: quietly sitting in 4th place and riding harder than he's ever had to
--Pedrosa: still a threat to win any given race, yet you just don't ever feel like he's going to
--Spies: riding hard and scoring 4th and 5th consistently
--Hayden: still riding hard, but needs to accept he will never again be competitive in GP
--Simoncelli: appears to be figuring out how to race with the big boys without crashing everyone out

Can't wait til the US races are over so I can stop listening to those fucktard American announcers on Speed! They can ruin a perfectly good race.

You're just jealous that Kramer is apparently the only one on the whole planet who can pronounce a Spanish name LOR-EN-THO!! (even if the announcers that live over there pronounce it ZO :D)

Some of the riders are saying that the new asphalt at Indy sucks!!!

Stoner: the track conditions weren't very good, it was very slippery and it was difficult to find any grip. It was pointless trying to find a set up with the track like this as it was worse than with the bumps in previous years. Hopefully by this afternoon there will be some more rubber laid down on the track and things will improve.

Pedrosa: We have had many problems with the grip. The quality of the new asphalt is disappointing, not what a world championship circuit deserves. There is no grip and the level is very irregular. The worst thing is the entrance of the corner; you can control the acceleration with the throttle, but entering the corner there is no traction at all. Now, all we can do is to adapt as best we can to the track because I think it will not change very much

Dovizioso: It was like riding in the wet, keeping the same tire and taking more risks every lap. The main issue is in the rear, especially entering the corners

Spies: It feels like kinda being at Qatar when the little desert storm comes through at night and riding the next day

Apparently they just needed the Moto2 guys to lay down some rubber for them.

My best friend is there, too. Bastard. He was at Laguna Seca before.

That's annoying, but it doesn't hold a candle to the pain inflicted by listening to Scott Russell attempting to call a race. I'd rather just hear the bike engines. Or nothing.

I liken Russell's announcing to having Boomhower from King of the Hll behind the mic...

Man, them dang 'ol motorcycle racers, man...

:lol: I agree the speed/american announcers suck, it was like that when fox or nbc had the races a few years back.

Ok races so far. Even with all the GP boys bitching about the condition of the new asphault, there have been far less crashes this year.



Gp up in a half hour, followed by the XR1200 race 2. Race 1 last night was fuckin awesome. These XRs are cool.

Indy is boring, hopefully the Austin layout is better.

They did that at turn 5 after qualifying, and at the last turn after sunday morning warm up.


Jesus, thats turn 6 right? I was looking for you all weekend. Oh, and we were talking to that same blonde down in the paddock saturday evening.

Actually that's turn 5, about midway through. They were doing the practice starts at the end of turn 4/beginning of 5.

I had to look at the map again. I thought they considered (what apparently is turn 4) two seperate corners. I was calling that 4 and 5 all weekend. :lol:

When we came in Saturday morning during GP practice, we went straight to the mound right behind 5. I looked at the corner workers and turned to my two friends and told them that you were corner working somewhere around the track, but I didnt know where. Doh. :lol:

I hide in plain sight.

For the record, I was not the guy that looked liked Santa Claus.

I had a blast. Santa asked me what racing stuff I had done, and decided I should be turn Capt. He was supposed to be turn Capt., but didn't have any experience with road racing, so he hands me the radio, and says "Here, you're in charge." :lol:

Turn 5 is the fastest bend on the circuit, and Stoner (pigs be upon him) was full-tilt bozo through my station. Holy Fuck. I kinda knew from the first practice that no one would be able to match that pace. To see that kind of speed from eight feet away, was damn near orgasmic, (my apologies to the track suit cleaning folks).

Yeah stoner was flat out ridiculous out there. As soon as Spies went retarded on the start, I knew no one around had a chance to keep up.
