and I'm out of Korea. I'm currently in my room waiting for the movers to come pack up all my stuff... then I've got some cleaning to do for my inspection in about 6hrs.

Tomorrow I sign out of the base and head to Seoul for the night... the Next morning I fly out...

I fly out at about 12 local(6th)... fly into Japan around 4pm local
Leave Japan at 5pm local... fly into Seattle at 9am local

sit around in Seattle until 430pm... then fly into Portland at 530pm...

Fly out of Portland at 9pm... fly into Anchorage at 1230am local the 7th

:owned: is the fact that I could have paid $190 for a ticket that would have flown me directly to Anchorage that would have left 4hrs after I got into Seattle and I'd have been in Anchorage at 4pm... but because the people who do my orders wouldn't read my e-mail and kept giving me dates to sign out on the same day as other appointments... I had to wait until last week to buy the ticket... $377 and a non direct flight with 11hrs of lay over between seattle and portland.

My cousin lives in South Africa for work, btu has to make it back to Miami every so often. He says its almost a 24 hour flight, with extra batteries and sleep pills being your best friend.

Almost there ebbs, I know the feeling. And the long flights, my worst though was 27 hours from ATL to Kuwait City with the stops. I did an annual tour at Aviano Italy the same fall, took the same rotator flight and took 26 hours to Aviano because we got delayed for hours in Baltimore waiting on some weather to clear the Azores.

I imagine that's akin to either our MOS school instructors or SGL (small group leader) that we have in our NCO courses. SGL sounds more like it because while there is some instruction involved, there's quite a bit of babysitting too. Instructors (of which I am one :D ) only have to deal with the students during classroom time, and then we set 'em loose. :D As long as they're in class by 8am.. we don't give a fuck what they do on their off time. :lol:

you know i was really thinking about that today. I finally have vaca days allotted to me and i am in desperate need of at least a weekend getaway. I am taking days off in a couple of weeks for my friend when she comes to town so after that i would be free to travel.

I was thinking austin wasn't too far and i can come down and see you and tracy and moira.

the last time i went away for the weekend was half a year ago, i went with my friend who dragged me to some dumb bar to hang with her frat boy friends and i wanted to stab myself and after she got pissed drunk and spilled her drink down my leg i wanted to punch her too! Only highlight was i got to hang out with homeslice and xshanex for a few hours.

actually one of the bar tenders at chilli's is a flight attendant on Korean Air... she called and found someone she knows who's the attendant on my flight... FREE DRINKS and possibly an upgrade to first class from Japan to Seattle.

being that I have 9hrs lay over in Seattle... I think I'll be alright even if I get shit faced :lol:

I did my tech school at Keesler, I was in the ..... 333rd...I think? dang, can't remember for sure now. Anyway, I was a 3CO, base communications. Spent my 3 1/2 months there from end of March to first part of June.

ohhh I hope I'm the 333rd MTL then... My Lt was a 3C0 and most of the people i dealt with on a daily basis at comm were 3C0's... I'm a 4A but worked in IT for the med group... Can't wait to seek my revenge! :lol:

We rotate weekends monthly. Last year I didn't get any weekends off during the summer, mainly because we were short staffed. We'll see what happens this year.

I'm a licensed operator (assistant supervisor for my shift) at a central station monitoring security and fire alarms all over the US and even some places in Canada.

I've had Fridays and Saturdays off since the first of January...surprise, surprise. I didn't ask for it. But it makes me wonder if I'm going to come into rotation for any weekends off this summer. Hell, I'll take weekends off in September too since it's still a good month to ride. :D
