Another fun filled saturday

At the job site and am bored out of my mind. Anyone else trapped at work today to keep me company. I will be in the ER tonight so we will see if I have any good rants or stories to go with.

I'm stuck in front of the TV today. I was going to ride out to Memphis for lunch, but alas, we got 4" of snow last night, so I'm stuck here.

tommymac 03-28-2009 09:41 AM

that sucks, i forgot today was your lunch trip :(

And over here we're getting enough rain for probably 1/2 to 1" an hour, for the 3rd day in a row. It's gonna be a slow Saturday :(

The fun part was yesterday when my truck hydroplaned because it downshifted near the top of a hill...it was a divided 4 lane and my first 360 I kept in my 2 lanes...the second one was off in to the median but I kept it in the median and not in the oncoming lanes! Also lucky there wasn't even anyone around to see it so no heart attack victims from my antics! I was worried I was going into the oncoming lanes for a few seconds, I was going 65 or so when it started.

Seems like the NE is dodging the bullet here with the wacky weather.

Still icing here....no plans for today....I'll go out and take some pictures in a bit....other than that, nothing.

I'm here on flood ops. just sitting and waiting. Nothing to do until the water either goes up or goes down.

Changed it now cause of all the cold. Should crest tomorrow at a little over 42 feet. Current is 40.77, down from the 40.82 at 5 am when I came in.

Fargo is kinda like a beach... we have lots of water and lots of sand. Most of the sand is in bags though... and there is still snow everywhere.

yes, as of now all the dikes are up to 43'. They have contingency dikes built up on the street inside of the other dikes to about 46' as a backup, and we have trucks staged around town loaded with troops and sandbags to go if there is a problem with any main dike.

Things are looking good so far...

Ninjakel 03-28-2009 10:56 AM

awww...its ok. I'll crack a cold beer just for you when i hit the beach

It would depend on WHERE they let go... But yeah, anywhere in the south side of town would probably wipe out 1/4 of the south end or more.

A good example would be, find an empty table, dump a glass of water on it. Thats a good example of what would happen if the Red breaks out.

I'm at an over crowded pool watching my youngest swim in the Junior Olympics. I hate people.... Good thing I love my daughter.

tommymac 03-29-2009 03:21 AM

Not too much insanity tonight. A pts mother threatened to beat up my triage nurse who is all of 3 feet tall  other than that not too bad, had a few cases that forced me to think a little bit which is good, not the same old mundane stuff.

Clubs/bars close in a half hour, then we will see what happens.

sorry couldn't help Sat, they finally let me out of here for two days straight. :) Which was great because I finally dug the bike out of the garage last week, Only to see it snow this weekend. Now the roads are full of salt again, because no one could handle driving in a few inches of snow for two or three days until it melted.
