What is the most miles you have ridden in one day?
Mine is only 412 miles in one day.:idk:
Nothing compared to some of you on here. |
About 525 miles..... :panic:
|
508 hill country miles and my butt hurt - 12 hours over the course of the day stopping to chat, gas up and eat only...8am - 8pm.....was fun though :)
|
Iron Butt pace - 1060 miles from Suches, Georgia to Oklahoma City. 22 hours on the road.
Non Iron Butt pace - 800 miles from Chicago, Illinois to Oklahoma City. 15 hours on the road. Quote:
I can do 400 miles in my sleep almost. It alllll comes with miles. You can build yourself up over time. |
6 or 700 or something... I don't remember.
|
I rode from Detroit to Chicago one time on a bet when I had my 'Busa... It actually didn't take all that long... Other than that, I've put in some 3-400 milers on occasion. Back in the mid-90s I rode with a buddy from El Paso, Tx to LA and we also rode from El Paso to LV but that's about it.
|
180...my favorite place to ride is pretty close to my house. :)
|
22 hrs
http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1z=21061&2z=55071 on a '82 Yamaha Turbo; 8 gas/bathroom fast food stops; one 2 hr nap on a picnic table.......... http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/...ca-turbo-2.jpg |
something like 600 miles.
|
678. Out to Cali to hit the canyons and back to Vegas. Took 12 hours.
|
On my own, probably about 3-400 miles.. (not on the Duc.. this bike I've done 200 miles in one day so far).
On the back of the Busa with Tracy going from Wendover, UT to Denver, CO... 725 miles. |
I've done a handfull of 4-500 mile days over the past few years. Don't think I've gone too far beyond the 500 mark though.
I think this guy's got us ALL beat, though... if not in miles, definitely in the "mentally ill" department! :p http://motorcycling.speedtv.com/arti...rida-non-stop/ |
200-300 I suppose. Not much of a long distance guy :idk:
|
1100 miles in 22 hours on a saddlesore 1000 ride on my F4i back in '07. Other than that it's usually 400-500/day for leisurly trips, and 600-700/day for time constraint trips
|
Somewhere around 300 on one day...the rally ride will be a definate test for me once it gets closer.
I'm actually quite nervous |
I've only done about 600 in one day. There is one guy here who bought his bike brand new, and within a week had 7200 miles on it of twisties. He is also insane and destroyed his foot wearing tennis shoes in a wreck.
|
840 in about 14 hrs. deals gap to LI, and that was with dc traffic, and waiting out 2 rain storms.
Sixxer, dont sweat it I did it by myself and that was tough, I think with the 3 of us together that will make it a little more bearable. i think the tough part will be doing the bulk of the trip in the dark, but we will see sunlight around 5 or 5:30 so hopefully that rejuvinates us,. Tom |

Who was it? Inquiring (evil) minds would like to know. :) I've done 800 miles alone. |
The guy they called mad mike. I've never met him. This story was straight from Pete yesterday.
|
300+
|
3500 miles (56-5700km)across canada, 3 1/2 days, on an rc51.

one day... Ugh... 12-1250 miles... left at like 6am, rode till almost midnight, from the western border of ontario to a few hours east of montreal. Ill have to check it to see what the distance actually is.
I didnt mind the mileage at all. The heat that week was ridiculous though. It was a good trip, wish I had slowed down to enjoy it all. |
I definitely don't know in miles but I've ridden a few hundred km's in a day. :idk:
I just mapped it and I've ridden about 600 KM in a day. That's probably the most. |
Maybe 300 to 350 for me. Weaksauce to many others but that's about it for me.
|
About 750 from Indianapolis, IN to Charleston, SC in thunderstorms for half of it. When I got home, I took off my helmet and jacket but fell asleep in my rain pants and boots after texting Rae, Trip, and Ebbs to let them know I was home.
|
I love a girl that dresses sexy for bed.
|
LA to Denver in October, about 1200 mi.
Not the best idea I ever had... JC |

I did 200 miles in one go on the Blast once.. so I can TOTALLY empathize with you there. |
300 on a single SM. I thought it was impossible, but my ass was both sore and numb.
|
Probably 250 - 300. :idk:
|
About 800, from somewhere-the-hell-in-New-Mexico back to Austin. Took less time than I thought, but I still appreciated that soft tank bag... :D

In 24 hours, roughly 1150 miles- Meggett SC to Longview TX by way of rtes 10 & 49. In the middle of February.
In one stretch without sleep, roughly 1300 miles, including a 2-hour+ stop to have a tire replaced, another stop to buy a new helmet, and some random driving-around-looking-for-bike-shops. Elk City OK to Meggett SC, roughly 9AM Central time to 5PM Eastern time on the following day. (It's possible i dozed off for a few minutes sitting in a gas station restaurant around 4 AM) |
About 420 miles...taking the back roads from my home to Cookson, OK on Tenkiller Lake...fun day. :dthumb:

we average about 800 a day on our road trips - all twisties, NO freeways. Laguna Seca one year we put on over 5000 miles in 5.5 days of riding - still no freeways! I'm on my superhawk and could keep going after a full day of riding, Louie's on his RC51 and is cripple but pushes on after 200 miles. (yes, custom seat, adjusted bars - all of that - it's still a torture rack)
|
However many miles it is from Charlotte to Jacksonville.

200ish. This thing is not comfy in the least.

I'm not sure, but the longest I remember is 12 hours of 2 lane back roads on a Ducati 900SS. it was around 500 miles.
My ass has never hurt that bad before or since. I was by myself, so the only stops were for gas and a smoke. |

Mine is 392 miles in a day. Quote:

holy miles I've never ridden near what most of you guys have in one day. I got my bike in october and from then to now I've put on 3,000 miles...so not bad for 5 or so winter months lol. I'd guess somewhere around 400?
|

Psst.... Zixxxer...check it out my leg humping brethren... a girl rider from NJ! Now maybe you can get off my girl Kelli! BTW I'm starting to think that a ZX6 is a GIRL'S BIKE! Just kidding! |
it was somewhere between 600 and 650. we rode from Deals Gap to close to Davenport FL. in a few hours. Mostly in the rain. I think we were able to get mostly dried 2 times, made it home just in time to miss the rain again.
|
4XX 14hrs, from the far side of AZ to ft worth/dallas, don't remember.
houston, el paso el paso to L.A. |
only a tad over 500
that was on the stock seat for the SV too. Shortly after I bought a gel seat. |

somehow I forgot, maybe it was because I wanted to but, Tina reminded me that I rode from above Davenport FL. to Key West and back in one day (well, a little over one day think it was like 25 or 26 hours). that was just over 800 miles in one day.
now, here's why I wanted to forget it. I was going to school in Orlando and we got a three day weekend so I talked one of my buddies into taking a weekend trip down to Key West. we were supposed to ride down there spend the night, run around Key West most of the day then head back. well, I don't know how many of you have been down there but when you get onto Key West but you have the choice to go left or right, if you take the right you go "downtown" if you go left you go to a beach with pretty much nothing else. He was a Georgia hick and wasn't happy that all we seen was the ocean and a beach, I said there has to be more than this here, lets go look around. He didn't want to, he wanted to go back. I tried to get him to just ride around the island some but he didn't want to. finally, I said ok, get on your fucking bike and you better keep up (I was on my 93 ZX11, he was on a 93 ZX6). we took off and think about 8 hours later I was hitting the sack. I didn't plan any more rides with him. |

m stock Honda seat is comfy as hell - I never have issues even spending 18-20 hours on it in a day...maybe it's my custom butt that makes the difference
|
You've got butt upgrades? please share.

I have no butt padding, but I have a sargent seat. Although I would say it could use a tad more padding.
The seat size is what I think makes it more comfortable. |
Some of you have updates I'm sure....

That is about 2200kms My best is 580kms/360miles in about 5.5 hours. |
457 on the DRZ... pain in the ASS literally... but I'll be fix'n that.
contemplating attempting an Iron butt on the DRZ... :D |
500 something.......from SF to SD. Sucked because something on my helmet was producing a whistling noise that never seemed to bother me until that trip.
|
Nope. Maybe next year.
|
1070 miles in 22.5 hours on the R1. Springfield, MO to Birmingham and back. The two others that were with me were on a 99 Suzuki Bandit 1200 and a brand new connie 14.
|
825 miles on my R1 and 838 on my Hayabusa. I've done 800+ miles a couple of times on the Busa and once on the R1.

The only catch is to be sure you get a receipt at your turnaround point. |
Don't remember... but I know I've heard it multiple times... but that may be the issue... that they either did a repeat like you said... or didn't have the proper documentation.
wonder if you can send them GPS routing with all your gas receipts... so if ya take back roads ad go 20miles where 10 would do... would they count it? |
About 800?or so
(Phx to Reseda, and back) on my 1988 FZ600 - man I hated that bike after that trip. |
400 is all.
|
675 mi from wis to tenn.

|
850 miles from Nederland Co to Ft Worth TX on a V-Strom. That northwestern corner of New Mexico sucks goat balls.
