US 48 State Stickers

I am not sure how much I am going to charge for these yet, but if you would like to get in line for one of these, post up here. Due to the work required to produce these, they won't be exceedingly cheap. I am going to check with vinyl sellers about pricing these out for labor and vinyl used. May just post the first one on ebay and see how well it does... Colors can be modified, but the only colors available now are *green/red/orange/yellow/blue/black* subject change. Wait times will vary depending on number of buyers.

Currently the sticker is only offered in approx 6.25" x 4" Will fit on helmets and small areas.

Current Line:
Gas Man
derf

Here is some pics of what I am talking about:

Creases are nonexistent on the sticker, that is the applicators fault....doh....

Fuck yeh, Just need to buy a new helmet to put it on.

Yeah, I am going to work on a big version later. Need to figure out a decent size that would be good for all around. What size would you be looking for? I am going to do some measurements on GS side cases in different brands and try to find a happy medium. I need to update the vector file to be a bit more detailed for the larger size, but it can be done.

I think double size... 12.5"x8 would be sick. I am thinking for the side of my toolbox... or maybe the mini-fridge. Or maybe both.

Mr Lefty 09-04-2009 08:49 AM

Yeah I think 12x8 would be perfect. can ya let me know what the cost of reflective rolls would be... and how many different colors are in the states (so I know how many rolls I'll need)

these are Kick ass...

You can get as many or as little colors as you want for states, that's completely up to you. I am currently using 5 colors for states. I will pm you about where to buy vinyl. I am going to try to find sheets of vinyl so you don't have to buy a large quantity.

neebelung 09-04-2009 09:01 AM

*ping* G-rex!!!! He needs this!! A full set, I believe (and an Alaska!)

Mr Lefty 09-04-2009 09:04 AM

Sweet... I'm gonna start this map over with the GS... already hit them all (minus HI)... got 18 on two wheels... but it'll be more fun to do them all on one bike

I am just missing Indiana and shitville in comparison with the GS vs my other bikes, shitville I will get with one trip to Louisiana, Indiana I don't really want to go back on a bike. So I didn't feel the need to start over.

Are you cutting the colored states out individually as you ride through them? Pretty cool idea.

these won't be available for awhile. I will probably eventually do a Alaska/Hawaii add on pack. And then a Canada(with provinces)/Mexico pack, but that will depend on how well these do. Right now, let's just stick to the 48. It took me a damn long time to make these, so others will take an equally long time and I will be spending that time creating these for a good while.

Gas Man 09-07-2009 08:45 PM

I'll take a set.

Hey when you planning on heading to Canada? I'm thinking of make'n a run up there next year probably late summer to put the new bike through some paces. I've got two weddings in May to go to one at the beginning and one at the end... so it's gotta be later in the year and I figure I wanna take at about a week and a half.

I really want to get Canada next. Europe is the next thing after that. A country map would be awesome of the whole world, but it would have to be much bigger than this size.

You should hold off on ND until this time or so next year. Love to meet ya in, and go for a spin!

Mr Lefty 09-12-2009 08:06 PM

So does MN, what's your point? Just figure if he's gotta come up here to check it off his list, it would be nice to meet a traveling member of the forum.

Mr Lefty 09-12-2009 08:17 PM

just giving ya shit... I plan on doing a canada run next year... get the bike sorted out

julie j 09-17-2009 06:58 PM

Those are really cool. Put me down for 2 please.

MissHell 09-17-2009 08:04 PM

Very cool idea.

Gas Man 09-17-2009 11:25 PM

Got it in the other day...

Went to lowes and got a satin nickle toe kick for a door. Think of using this to put it on. Then I can hang it on the wall, take it with, hang it off the bike, tie it to the luggauge rack, etc.

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3...AwMjIuanBn.jpg
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3.../Travel002.jpg

Still need to cut down the panel length wise. Just letting it sit for a couple to see if I come up with any better ideas. There is simply no where to put it on the bike that would look good.

Cutty72 09-21-2009 11:21 PM

What about on the trunk? :idk:

Gas Man 09-22-2009 01:07 AM

Only place large enough would be on the lid. But that's under the rack.

But my problem is I'm not sure about stickers like that on the bike. Kinda like you dont sticker out a caddy. Looks tacky on this bike.

Gas Man 09-28-2009 06:45 PM

Went another direction. I don't want it on when just running around town. But when I'm touring/traveling I want to display it with pride (although now its embarrasing). So what do I put on when I go long distances.... My tall clear windshield.

That would be SUPER SCHWEET!

Its nearly 500 miles for me to get out there and 500 back. I want to put on at least 500 when I'm there for 4 days. Basically I want a 1500 mile trip.

Gas Man 09-28-2009 08:39 PM

You guys have any ideas for a slogan or saying to go over the states?

HD original is "Live to Ride. Ride to live."

But those all seem hokey... you guys are creative. Help me!

Well that is the point.... maybe get the word "Going" in front of that?

$33 shipped for the small USA map, $48 for the huge north american one.

I actually got yelled at about these prices on another board, it was quite humorous.

Quote:

PLEASE do NOT discount your prices for anything. It's bad form for the hobbyist start cranking out stickers for dirt cheap because it takes jobs and a paycheck away from real sign makers that are trying to support their families.
No damn sign makers would make this for me, but now that I put in the work to get done what they thought was impossible, they try to tell me what to charge. Fuck them....

That pic seriously creeps me the fuck out. I had to erase it from my computer, it was giving me nightmares.

BTW, reflective vinyl is now available. reflective is only offered in white/red/orange/yellow/blue/green. Prices are $5 more.

Review from advrider member:

Quote:

got em on the back pf my Schuberth helmet -- since you hadn't tested wet application, I went dry.

Two notes -- it wasn't entirely pleased about conforming to the compound curvature of the helmet (small wrinkles at the California/Oregon border and somewhere near Maryland), and the stickers grip HARD! This is good, but makes accurate placement of the states pretty tough (see pics) -- I would recommend you test wet application, at least for the states (though it may help conform to compound curses, too) . . . .

High quality stuff, sir -- the blue and green reflect similarly, but I don't see that as a downside -- feel free to use the pics, or I can send em to ya!

My verdict, two thumbs up (and I've got two!)
Here is some pics.
