Seriously. Why? I've already told you. The cheaper the better. Why would anyone buy that? Only for those with more money than brains.

What I find hilarious is that someone who wants/needs a workbench would buy one and not make it.

This.

The best work benches are made by the person that needs it...

I totally agree, its for people with more money than brains, but its still cool as hell.

I'm building a new work bench this weekend to replace the old one I've been using for years thats too small, wobbly, and beat up. Especially since my workshop area has been upgraded from a 10x10 shed to a garage. I'm not going all out like this guy did on his, but would love to eventually.

I picked up a vice from harbor freight, perveyor of high quality tools earlier this week for $40, and a screw clamp for $5. After work tommorrow I'm going to buy the wood and maybe start on it at night or on friday morning.

The workbench above is great, it really is a fantastic piece of art really, I would love to build something like it eventually, but it's way more than I would ever need.

Speaking of building workbenches, I need to find a set of plans for a simple, but sturdy reloading bench.

So, Fred, between you and AMJ, who is the official Jewish carpenter of TWF?

I have built 2 workbenches and a simple cabinet since Christmas for my workshop and garage. My benches cost around $35 apiece except for the one in the garage that I used a clearance countertop that cost an extra $25. The cabinet was around $15, and I did all in less than 4 hours each. If you have a Home Depot close, check for cull lumber and save yourself some bucks.
