Clutch help?

Alright so my buddy bought an 82 KZ100. He drove it around, seemed fine, ran well. Drove it bout 30 miles home and parked it. Got up on Sunday, started it up, put it in gear, let out the clutch...and nothin. said it rolled along about 5mph maybe. The owner said he had recently put on a new clutch cable. Could it just be not adjusted right? Maybe stretched a little first time being used really?

thnx

that was I told him first. the adjustment at the lever isn't near enough, I told him to try the one about half way down the frame.

Yeah check the adjuster knob...When I put my clutch in my bike last year after the motor swap I think I rode on two rides and I already had to adjust the clutch.

kz100 or kz1000?

new clutch cable, not new clutch, if i read that right.....

i think they still had the pushrod in 82, so number 1- make sure the cover that the clutch cable goes into is tite, even if its a lil loose, no amount of adjusting is gona matter.

number 2, adjust the handlebar knob all the way back in, then adjust the adjustment on the cable itself...
