Wow. I'm normally one to reserve judgement until I've heard both sides of the story, but the statements from the cops own partner, a 14-year veteran, pretty much sew this thing up for me.

If it turns out that it did, in fact, happen as reported, throw him in general population in a maximum-security prison and let everyone know he was a cop.

Funny how it's all "due process....presumption of innocent....blah blah blah" when it's a cop talking about another cop.

What about due process for the guy sitting in his own home? Presumption of innocence before he put a fucking gun to this guys head? Shooting his dog?

Wow....I can hear Kaneman stroking out from here...and if this story is true at face value I don't really blame him.

I used to get far more upset, now I just accept that we (Americans) are comfortable with a militarized police force treating citizens like terrorists. This type of thing happens 3-4 times a day (at least) all over the country.

Who else is willing to bet there's no murder charge on this one?

More than likely he will be "allowed to resign" and slink away to another department across the country

I smell a huge lawsuit.

The MAIN problem with cops (and I believe there are many more good than bad) is that the bad apples are not weeded out. As a result, it begins to spoil some of the good because no one likes a snitch.

Even a good cop will cover for somebody. Though it's not the same, we see it all the time in the military.

Somebody does something stupid. Everybody is obligated to rat him out. It never happens. The people who do tell, are ostracized and have no companionship on a tin can in the middle of the ocean. It makes their life difficult to do the right thing.
